Rush to Failure

That message has apparently been decided. CNN is reporting that the billboard will say, “Americans didn’t vote for a Rush to failure.”

There are some who might argue that point. When we voted in Barack Obama and his Rush to spend, we may very well have voted for a rush to failure.

Yeah agreed.

More Dem. partisan nonsense.

Were the DNC really smart, they'd let the Republicans battle this out without getting involved.

Instead, by insinuating themselves into this internacine battle, they actually make the Republican Party more cohesive by giving it an outside enemy to hate..

SOME of you might be cynical enough to see that THAT is exactly the idea.

SOME of you might be cynical enough to realize that the Republican Party NEEDS the DEMOCRATIC PARTY and vice versa.

Yeah, but do we need them?

"Internacine" editec? Had to look that one up in the dictionary. Good word, however it's spelled with an e instead of an a. "Internecine."

See... all the Democrats wanted was power. Now that they attained it, they don't know how to handle it properly. Rush Limbaugh is a strong conservative voice who articulates accurate and constitutional points about this nation. There is NO POLITICAL GAIN in attacking him. Clinton tried it in 93 in an attempt to keep Congress for the Dems, and failed.

The Democrats current leadership is conveying FAILED European Socialist ideas on the economy, healthcare, military, etc. Again, they have FAILED... and yet we are going to waist our time and money on them???? YES, I WANT OBAMA'S SOCIALIST POLICIES TO FAIL. If you actually listened to Rush Limbaugh's recording of what he said, you would hear the same thing. CNN, Moveon.org, etc are just taking it out of context, and the Leftist Democratic Leadership are going along with it, and it will be to their ultimate demise.

The dumbest possible course of action by the Dems. It's almost like they are hell bent on political suicide. If you are going to turn someone into the next Tom Delay or newt Gingrich, make sure he doesn't talk to 20 million people everyday. And make sure that he doesn't have a cadre of water carriers that will leap to his defense so that the airwaves are filled with 18 hours + per day of counters to any charges put forth by the Dems.

Further, guess what? It's a dumb idea to take an entertainer and raise his status to the level where the White House is commenting on him. Fine, Rush is Rush. He's been doing this 20 years. But, you can't fall into the trap of calling him out. He has nothing to lose and nothing but audience to gain by being pilloried by the White House and their cheap imitation of the plumbers. Starring Paul Begala as G. Gordon Liddy.

He is not an entertainer... he is a conservative political commentator. He may be entertaining.... that doesn't make him an entertainer...

Other than that... I agree that the Dems are making a big mistake.

A "conservative political commentator" is a type of entertainer when you put them on the radio for 3 hours a day. If his name was David Limbaugh and not Rush Limbaugh, I might agree with you. Rush gets paid to maintain an audience. He entertains, in his special way, to do that. That doesn't mean he has nothing important to say, but it does mean he's an entertainer. He has no constituency, he makes no decisions that effect people's lives, in other words, his ass is not on the line for the opinions he espouses. Not like an elected official. The Dems are treating him like he is an elected official. Elevating his importance is a political blunder.

I respectfully disagree with you on the entertainer point. I can cite the example of the 1994 Republican Revolution of Congress. Rush was the primary voice for conservatism that helped lead the said revolution. The Republican Leadership acknowledged his leadership by making him an honorary member of Congress.

Yes, he gets paid to maintain an audience... but so does any person on television on the news. Its the same thing. I don't think Nancy Grace or Shep Smith is considered an entertainer, but the way they deliver their news and commentary may or may not be entertaining.... but that doesnt make them an entertainer... but they do maintain an audience. The same principle applies to Rush Limbaugh. He may be entertaining, but that does NOT make him an entertainer.

If I bought your argument that he's much more important than an entertainer and, in fact, he's a "leader of the Republican Party" a "primary voice for conservatism," then the Dems would be validated in their strategy.

I've listened to Rush since just before the Gulf war....what was that 1990? Maybe a couple of years after he started. When he was still doing the "Rush to Excellence" tours. Shep Smith does not play "bits" on Fox News. There are no satirical songs played. He doesn't introduce topics with a music interlude like "Up, Up and Away" for a condom update etc.

Like I said, it doesn't mean that he isn't right about a lot of things, but make no mistake, he's an entertainer. He has a lot of credibility, which may be why you are fighting me on this, because he is often right and unusually consistent, but the fact remains....I'm pretty sure Rush would tell you the same thing.

Obama is an entertainer. He gets the same publicity as Angelina Jolie and she's an entertainer. Imagine if he was a leader and told Washington "read, my lips, no more earmarks." Wait, we'll work on it next time. But let's rush on.

Rush said nothing wrong. Compare the comments from Rush to most liberals during the Bush era and they are pretty tame.

What he said may be tame compared to what Liberals said during Bush's era, but does that make it "right"? If we are going to take the high road, shouldn't we be above that or have other conservatives said, "screw the high road, this is war?

This is war, Obama is attempting to reshape our country. Obama needs to be stopped. 2010 cannot come fast enough.
