You fail, Matlock. They most certainly can be held accountable by being removed from this country. The United States is - OF COURSE - well within her rights in deporting those who are here illegally regardless of how old they were when they arrived. Choosing to PARDON that illegal status - for whatever reason and subject to whatever terms - is amnesty. If they are not held accountable but rather FORGIVEN that illegal status then that is amnesty. Whether you think this proposed law is a good idea, or humane, or fair or not the fact remains that amnesty will encourage further illegal immigration. No such law or other form of amnesty will be reasonable and truly human unless we FIRST very seriously secure our borders.
They have to demonstrate that they will be productive members of society both before and after either serving in the military or completing a college degree. They have to work for their citizenship. That is not amnesty. .
Conditions do NOT mean it isn't amnesty. See, this is why I told you to go look up the word.
