RIP Doc Watson

he was amazingly great...

btw... his son Merle performed with him for 'bout 15 years, 'til Merle was tragically killed in an accident on the family farm some 27 years ago...

btw... folks who, prior to now, didn't know anything about Doc might notice Doc's thoughtful and focused countenance in the video clips... but probably would never guess that Doc was completely blind...
 
how in the hell could you not know doc was blind? he is lead onto the stage......

okay *smack own hand* my bad.....i have seen doc just out and about town and all....since i was like 18....have been to quite a few events where he played....i guess you might miss the fact that he is blind.....i guess....

boone has kinda shut down for a few days.....i imagine the statue is completely covered and the newspaper is doing a special edition to donate money to the scholarship fund doc and his wife, rosa

yep...

I saw him in Minneapolis in 1975 I think it was. I was right up close. He was the real deal.
