It has to do with the arrogance common to most who believe their faith and belief in a 'god' place them above the law, who exhibit contempt for the Constitution and the rule of law as a consequence of that arrogance, who seek to conjoin church and state in violation of the First Amendment, and who seek to disadvantage other citizens by violating their civil rights.

It has to do with the fact that the social right and religious fundamentalists are the bane of the American Nation, anathema to our principles of individual liberty, attempting to compel conformity to religious dogma through force of law.
