Hating Hatters
Yesterday, our Toad in Chief vetoed all kinds of programs that were popular: vets programs, whooping cough vaccines for the poor, etc....not unexpected but I thought this was very telling. I'm pretty sure these people are seniors that were strong armed out of a public place (The Villages is a Senior Community, I believe)

Members of The Villages Democratic Club were barred from the budget signing by Scott staffers who said the outdoor event in The Villages town square was “private.” Other staffers and Republican operatives scoured the crowd and had Sumter County sheriff’s deputies remove those with anti-Scott signs or liberal-looking pins and buttons. They escorted more than a dozen people off the property.

I'm really glad to see that

The Florida voters got what they asked for.....just like when they gave us George Bush

I doubt any of the rightwingloons will be shocked at his behavior. He's pretty much becoming Mr. Big Government.

Thankfully the Republicans are also pissed off at him.

The guy is really a toad, there's just no sugarcoating it.

You're whining that he vetoed all manner of new spending, but you're calling him "Mr. big government?"

What is your idea of "small government," the Soviet Union?

I'm just listening to a robocall from Governor Toad.

He's telling me he is awesome and how cutting funding for schools helps schools.

Jebus.

Looks like he's taking a page from Dubya's playbook. Only represent one side.

I live down here in Florida.

After reading the story I don't have a problem with anything he cut.

Hope he cuts some more.

including "[t]he biggest target of the veto pen: $305 million targeted for environmental land buys. Scott also cut $169 million in college projects and vetoed scores of hometown spending lawmakers earmarked for their districts."

So now less government and government spending is the stuff of a police state, eh? That strikes me as being a pretty strange idea. Gee, a real police state must be really small, virtually non-existent, given the direction he's going.

His people removing people from the signing was wrong.

That said, what is your evidence of a police state? The fact that he cut government spending?

Since when is government work "private"?

Did you read the OP?

If so, I'm guessing that you are stupid.

Yeah, unfortunately this is what Scott has been doing.

He is giving the very public impression that he is the governor of the Florida Tea Party, not Florida.
