But that doesn't mean that all is well with employment in the Lone Star State. Texas leads the nation in minimum-wage jobs, and many positions don't offer health benefits. Also, steep budget cuts are expected to result in the loss of more than 100,000 jobs.
Here's a few more interesting tidbits of information:
Texas Ranks dead LAST in the nation in the percentage of adults who have high school diplomas.
So, what do they do? They cut $4 billion from public schools over two years. What do you think that is going to do for Texas?
They also have a $4.3 deficit in the current budget. See a connection? Cutting education with their schools falling apart and the highest ratio of uneducated adults in the country, cutting $4 billion from public schools was the last thing they should have done.
