I don't know about the rest of the country but Republicans in Texas running for statewide office in a general election don't need any issues to run on. All they need is the (R) next to their name. It's a little different at the district, county and municipal level. You know what they ran on in 2022? Crime. That was their big issue in 2022 and they did not do well. Joe obviously didn't win Texas in 2020 but he had coattails here. Dems did well at the district, county and municipal levels and held most of those seats that were up for re-election last year. The red wave fizzled here too. It seems that Texas GOPs are mostly gonna run on immigration and the border this time around.
