Oklahoma state senator under investigation by Moore police


MOORE — Police here are investigating why state Sen. Ralph Shortey was in a hotel room last Thursday with a teenage boy.

Police are reviewing text messages purportedly exchanged between Shortey and the teenager as part of the investigation, The Oklahoman has learned. Police became involved because of concerns raised by a relative of the boy.

Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn confirmed Tuesday he has received an initial briefing about the incident from a Moore police investigator. He said he is awaiting the investigator's final report before deciding whether any criminal charges are warranted.

It has nothing to do with a Republican acting like a Democrat. The Republican led legislature kicked him out in record time, removed all of his bills, scraped his name off his office door and painted over his name in his parking space. When he ends up at Big Mac, he will be someone's bitch and you'll never hear of him again. That's how Republicans take care of business here in Oklahoma. That's an ignorant statement to make for such a complicated issue. Try reading the attached study. Any or all of these could be the reason for inner-city poverty. My opinion is that it worsened in cities where the money - both government and public -stopped flowing in; a fact proven by many recent successful turnarounds of urban areas.
