Nancy Pelosi was one of the most effective Speakers of the House in the last 50 years. Her resume of passing legislation which stopped a depression, saving the auto companies, passing the first universal healthcare program, repealing DADT and financial reform place her as one of our top speakers

Compared to John Boehner who accomplished no major legislation and presided over the most ineffective Congress in history. Boehner has been unable to gain consensus in his own party, let alone with the Democrats. He presided over a Congress which couldn't pass a budget, nearly shut down the Government and defaulted on our debt while obstructing legislation which would have helped Americans suffering in a bad economy

It all depends on what your definition of 'effective' is.

You will NEVER be able to rewrite the history.

Bush crashed the world economy, allowed us to be hit on our own soil under his watch, lied us into war and ran away from the real fight in Afgahnistan

The last Congress has been criticized for passing the least legislation in recent history.
I consider that a GOOD thing. The electorate is less likely to get hosed.

The Banksters crashed the US and the World Economy.
Obama keeps us in Afghanistan after promising to get us out.

Bush ALLOWED 9/11 to happen? You know that makes you a "9/11 Truther"?

I'd like to see you start a few threads about 9/11 Truth. But I know you won't, you're too scared.

Just depends on what your definition of 'effective' is, I guess!

Pelosi - in her first official act, took the young person's minimum wage a whopping 40%.

She destroyed the opening wage scale at exactly the wrong time, over the protest of wiser people who knew better:

    Minimum-Wage Increase Fails

"Republicans argued that an increase in the minimum wage would discourage employers from hiring workers and would hinder people in the early stages of their careers from gaining skills and advancing. "

    Minimum-Wage Increase Fails

    Results?

"The unemployment rate for young Americans has exploded to 52.2 percent -- a post-World War II high, according to the Labor Dept. -- meaning millions of Americans are staring at the likelihood that their lifetime earning potential will be diminished and, combined with the predicted slow economic recovery, their transition into productive members of society could be put on hold for an extended period of time.

And worse, without a clear economic recovery plan aimed at creating entry-level jobs, the odds of many of these young adults -- aged 16 to 24, excluding students -- getting a job and moving out of their parents' houses are long. Young workers have been among the hardest hit during the current recession -- in which a total of 9.5 million jobs have been lost. "
