A judge will decide whether Ravi will be sent to jail for the spying of 18-year-old Tyler Clementi in the days that lead up to his suicide in September 2010.
Ravi, 20, was convicted in March of 15 criminal counts, including two counts of bias intimidation that could be punishable by up to 10 years in state prison."

I don't recall any other webcam case becoming the cause célèbre that this one did....
....it seems that the resultant suicide was the real crux.
