Assuming the OP refers to singers in bands as opposed to solo performers ( Mariah Carey, Elton John, Frank Sinatra...etc). So in that case,in no particular order...

Jon Anderson
Peter Gabriel
Tarja Turunen
Bruce Dickenson
Rob Halford
Ronnie James Dio
Greg Lake
Jimi Hendrix
Meghan Krauss
Ann Wilson

Tarja is the one in yellow.

David Bowie
Jim Morrison
Mick Jagger
Scott Weiland
Eric Burdon
Marty Balin
Ray Davies
Greg Lake
Justin Hayward
Roger Daltry

-Freddie Mercury
-Maynard James Keenan
-David Lee Roth
-Ronnie James Dio
-Ozzy Ozbourne
-Phil Anselmo
-Bon Scott
-Jello Biafra
-Bruce Dickinson
-H.R. (Bad Brains)

A lead singer should be a mix of vocals and showmanship.
In that case, I nominate King Diamond.
lol! Holy Falsetto Batman!
A consummate showman to boot.
You are damn correct there. Rob Halford is another one that comes to mind as well.

And Geoff Tate. Also John Bush from Armored Saint - that dude can still walk the walk.

Last year;

When practicing your jazz chops, this is a really good
backing track. Crank it uuuuup.

Fun guitar trick - tune all the way down 2 whole steps
(the E strings will be C now....) So standard tuning only everything's moved up 4 frets....the 12th fret E will now be the 16th fret and so on. The lower tension on the strings allows for easier vibratos, tap-on/offs , and killer bends and works well for C minor and D minor stuff.

Confused OP. “Lead singer” implies a group. Is that what is meant? Or just Top 10 singers?

If it’s singers:

Frank Sinatra
Gino Vannelli
k.d lang
Janet Seigel (Manhattan Transfer)
Judy Garland
Tony Bennett
Paul McCartney
Anita Baker
Ella Fitzgerald
Whitney Houston

NOTE: great singer is not equivalent to great voice, and vice versa. You could say Celine Dion has a great voice, but she’s a shitty singer. Stevie Wonder is a great singer but doesn’t have a great voice.

If it’s band lead singers:

Steve Walsh is #1 (Kansas) - great voice, great singer
Freddie Mercury - great voice, great singer
Sammy Hagar (only with Montrose) - great singer
Paul McCartney - great voice, great singer
Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze) - great singer
Roger Daltry - great singer
Chrissie Hynde - great singer
John Fogarty - great voice
Steve Winwood - great voice
Ronnie James Dio - great voice

Honorable mention: Chris Cornell, Rod Stewart, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Plant, Rob Halford (Judas Priest)

Nice lists. btw Rob Halford's still touring with with Priest this year and 2020.
This is him in 2018 at age 66.
