I just read that the Bitcoin blockchain is going to split into two chains in a few weeks. Is the prospect of that split causing Bitcoin owners to sell Bitcoin and buy Ether shares or do you think it's newbies like me jumping on the Ethereum train?

It would be interesting to see the demographics behind the crypto currency surge. I have a sense that the average age of people investing in these 'coins' is much younger than people who invest in stocks and bonds. I have also read that the Chinese and Japanese are the biggest investors in BC and ETH but that was just one article so take it with a grain of salt.

I've invested and traded stocks for decades and one of the weirdest things for me to get used to is these currencies trade 24/7. As for the lesser known coins seem like penny stocks to me which can certainly produce high yields with smaller initial investments but have much higher risk and failure rates.
