Marketplace competition will be a much better guarantee of good health care than the crumbs dolled out by stupid corrupt bureaucrats that don't give a shit about the people getting the care. You would have to be an idiot to put something as important as health care in the hands of the government. The government fails at almost everything it does.

Some stupid government asshole decided that the little boy in the UK is not eligible for any more health care by the filthy state and that is despicable.

Pismoe, my husband does our insurance but he told me that we had many choices in California , because California funds the program. The ones not doing well are the states who do not fund it. Trump goes to those states to say how ACA is failing.
Yes there are problems with it,like taking off the mandatory fine law..and its rising costs..

My brother use to slam ACA, and ended up in the hospital so sick for a week and a 1/2 due to his appendix bursting.. ( no insurance )
He is bankrupt now, and they attach his check.or he bailed on it , I am not sure.

My son was born with Type 1 diabetes , non of it was his fault like Type 2 Diabetes when a person is fat or a heavy drinker...most of the time.

My son is a good student in college, he should never have to worry about getting insulin, these young people have enough to worry about.
What ever we have to do I will make sure he does... but there are so many young ones that the republican bill will screw over except for the mega rich..

This infant isn't being denied care for financial reasons. The parents are sitting on 1.3 million BPS in donations for him to receive care here in the USA. This isn't anything to do with socialized medicine or any kind of rationing.

This is entirely about human rights, including the right to die - and live - with dignity. This case has been brought before the courts and the argument is between the parents, who desire to keep their poor baby alive in any condition, and the physicians who are advocating for the baby according to their Hippocratic oath.

This baby is severely, irreversibly brain damaged. He is blind, deaf and paralyzed. He will be a vegetable if, after being a lab rat for some US doctor's research project, he survives. He will need 24/7 care for basic bodily functions and will never have any kind of quality of life whatsoever. Down the road when mom & dad have a couple more able-bodied kids, he'll be a burden on them emotionally, physically and financially and it's quite possible he'll end up neglected or abused by his own family, like so many other profoundly disabled human beings on this planet.

Will you all be stepping up to care for him then? Nope.

I hope the court's decision on his behalf is carried out. Right now they are giving the family time together and time to say goodbye, as is appropriate.

I laud the court for having the courage to be the voice of compassion for this poor boy that his parents are too selfish to be.

Charlie Gard suffers from a rare genetic condition and is unable to breathe unaided. Last week, his parents lost a legal battle to take him to the U.S. for trial therapy. His parents and a London children's hospital said Friday that the 10-month-old boy will be given "more time" before life support is withdrawn.

White House spokeswoman Helen Aguirre Ferre said that members of the Trump administration have spoken to Gard's family.

"Although the president himself has not spoken to the family, he does not want to pressure them in any way, members of the administration have spoken to the family in calls facilitated by the British government. The president is just trying to be helpful if at all possible," she said, calling the situation "heartbreaking."

There is little Trump can do to help, because U.K. and European courts have deferred to the hospital's decision not to allow Charlie to be sent to the U.S. for trial therapy.

it's even worse than that....everyone with insurance through their employers will now have a cap on what insurance policies will pay, so they can go bankrupt again, and shotty insurance policies that can leave off anything from diabetics coverage to pregnancy coverage or emergency room coverage...
