The sound you heard is the same sound that around 60% of Americans are making. Obamacare has become more popular as the Republicans have put together their rushed and poorly conceived plans that essentially are telling the poor, low income, people with pre-existing conditions, and older people to drop dead with sky high premiums.

The fact is that Republicans refused to reach out to conservative Democrats like Joe Manchin and Heidi Heitkamp who were willing to work to find a solution. They could have also done what Obama should have done. Bring in doctors, nurses and others who comprise the healthcare system to work on a solution to the crisis that existed before Obamacare. Republicans were more interested in appealing to far right extremists.

Also 60% of Americans are not Democrats. Independents trust the Democrats more than the Republicans. I don't trust either party but I am willing to admit that there are some good things about Obamacare that should be kept such as protection for low income people, people with pre-existing conditions, and older Americans, and the subsidies. Even Ronald Reagan said no one should be prevented from seeing a doctor because they can't afford it. He was not a Democrat.

AS PREDICTEDWHEN OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS WERE PUSHING THESE LIES, long before they rammed it into law, NON-PARTISAN experts were pointing out how it was going to result in increased premiums.

Obama and the Democrats FORCED Americans to participate / buy Obamacare or face government-inflicted monetary punishment AND paid Insurance Companies tax dollars while they were being paid by consumers, and this still could not prevent Insurance Companies from raising premiums - up to 100% in some areas, and / or prevent them from pulling out of markets altogether, leaving Americans with no insurance to purchase / insurance coverage.

I suppose those non-partisan experts love the Republican healthcare plans that kick people off of their insurance. The fact is that premiums did increase but were stable until Republicans made no secret of their desire to undermine Obamacare. Clearly Obamacare needed to be fixed.

The mandate was created by the CONSERVATIVE Heritage Foundation. They recognized that you would have freeloaders. People who would not buy insurance until they were sick. That increases the premiums for everyone. All that you have complained about has happened since TRUMP AND THE REPUBLICANS took over. Patsy Murray and Lamar Alexander created a compromise bill that would create some certainty for insurance companies. REPUBLICANS refuse to even bring it up for a vote.
