Dear Mods. Please put more popups on the screen to cover previously accessible areas. The new one that covers the arrow at the bottom right of the screen that takes you back to the top is quite entertaining.

So it's not just me then.

Are you just getting ads? I get an “ad” format but it shows the avatar of a tread starter and their thread. I keep seeing that penguin from Madagascar

There are ads mixed in.

Though many claim uBlock may be a better alternative for Android.

Did not help, but I did see the Duck Duck Go browser, really don't wanna change browsers for just this site

I may have to just quit using this site in phone...

It’s not an ad, it’s part of this website. It pops up with the newest threads created. Thing is it cannot be closed as far as I can tell.

There is a small "x" to close it just above the top right of the popup, but it is only visible when your mouse is over it.

Clicking the “x” doesn’t make it go away. It would probably come right back up anyway.

Does for me, but it's back at the next screen change.

Getting it on my iPhone too

It's annoying enough that if it persists they are gonna lose members.

Not just lose members, but non-members that are directed here and see pop-ups? Folks just stopping through, IMO, will definitely leave. Any time I see a site that has pop-ups, it signifies to me that the site is a bottom feeder site. It is sketchy, has malware, tracks your data, and all sorts of crap. If this is an attempt to boost profitability of the site? I think it is misguided.

No one enjoys spending their precious time at sites like that, they are click bait sites.

Thing is, the same shit is happening on my iPad now too, not just on my android tablet...
And, on the iPad a drop down box is at the top of the page,
so I get shit at both ends....

I'm so fucking pissed I can scream...
its a virus or malware of sorts....

Someone else is experiencing it on their Android. Is it AdBlock or AdBlock Plus? I'm using AdBlock Plus on Chromium (what Chrome is built on) but I'm also running Linux Kubuntu and I'm not seeing it at all.
Check to see if AdBlock has been disabled, if it has then you might have another extension that is turning it off. Disable all extensions, reenable AdBlock and see if that works. If it does you may need to enable each extension one at a time to find the culprit.

Yeah, adblock plus on chromium kills it, it kills everything as far as as I know. I don't habitually use it though because it's slower.

You can use duck duck go and it will block it and moves fast on my android.

I get that revenue is needed to run a site, but this shit has gotten out of control. I can barely type in a response with about 1 inch of screen left after several ads. There is literally no room left on my old device to put another app on to block it.
There needs to be some control over the format as these ads are taking over every space on the screen. Now the damn screen jumps as the ads load confusing the screen even more.

Notice to advertisers...
I will never buy your crap.
I will never click your annoying link.
I will hate and boycott your product for being an annoying pain in the ass.

After this thread I switched to that as my default.

I don't even know if they ever fixed the problem or not.

AdBlock is such a system hog. DuckDuck is so much nicer.

Plus, I often compare it's search results with Bing and Google, and it tends to be a lot less partisan.

FireFox even gave me a report at the end of the year from DuckDuck privacy Essentials, on the first, or around the 31st, specifically reporting on USMB (because I have granted this site "additional permissions," because it is an unsecured site, I don't know why. . . it said advertisers or outside entities or something, were stopped from tracking my browsing and searching behavior over 300 times? Maybe someone's socks are posting some sneaky links? I'm not sure what exactly is tracking me. . . something is nefarious on this site. Lots of trolls and spooks on this site or something.

I don't even understand the wording of that report or what it was telling me. . . but it seemed like good news.

I did A LOT of cross disciplinary studies at Uni, and I found that in short concise discussion, an image conveys more info than short sentences. This is one of the reasons the STATE in Europe had tried to craft laws to outlaw memes. The state would never get away with outlawing free expression here.

I also notice it drives big government folks nuts.

The biggest short coming of DuckDuck are it's image searching. It doesn't have an ability to find images and memes very well. I get a lot of porn stills instead of useful images.
