Most Americans do not approve of Obama’s efforts to control federal spending, and many don’t like how he has handled the federal budget deficit, according to a new USA Today/Gallup poll.

Overall, 67 percent of Americans view Obama favorably, but Americans are more positive in their opinions of him as a person than they are when asked to rate his overall job performance or how he has handled specific issues, according to the poll.

The survey found that while 61 percent approved of his overall job performance and 55 percent approved of how he’s handling the economy, 51 percent disapproved of his measures to control federal spending and 48 percent disapproved of his handling of the budget deficit.

“Obama's job approval rating for his handling of the economy has dropped from 59% in February to 55% today, while his disapproval rating has risen by 12 points, from 30% to 42%,” Gallup said. “The fact that Obama's approval on the economy has become more negative over this time period is of interest, given that Gallup’s measure of consumer mood has become more positive between March and the current time.”

This is interesting considering the glowing media coverage that Obama has enjoyed. Maybe Americans are finally starting to pay attention to this record-massive government spending. In which our government is now borrowing 50 cents on every dollar they're spending.

Yeah...he's a great guy...but I wouldn't let him marry my sister...much less vote for him for President. Too bad there were too many sheeple at the polls.

Very similar to the Carter dialogue...

"Oh he was such a nice man - but a terrible president."

Appears Obama might be heading in that same direction...

Obama will fall as quick as he rose when the media turns against him. That will probably happen in about 2 years when the media realizes most people have figured him out and the media will then act like they are leading the charge to tell the truth about the man.

Obama is starting to make Gimy Karter look like a great president
