It would be very hard for the President to trounce Governor Romney with the same absurd margin that he tattooed Senator McCain with. From a political science standpoint, it's hard to blow out two different opponents in two different elections. Especially in this day and age where there are people who will vote for anyone based only on the consonant next to their name. Look at the GOP voters here, there is pure hatred of the man...President Obama. Not a surprise that the link in the OP says that.

But look at the stats that it reports. The Governor is retaining 92% and the President is retaining 86 percent. It's a six percent difference. What the Governor needs is the 6 percent to be on a state by state basis since he has to win something like...snicker...12 swing states. Trouncing Obama in Indiana is great for the ego (Romney is ahead in the state where Obama won in 2008) but doesn't do much for the electoral field dressing the Governor is about to receive.
