Philly plans to WIFI the whole city...

    Very interesting.

    Ambitious to say the least. However there are many things that need fixing in Philly.

    I wonder if they can create enough of a wireless signal to benefit us out in the suburbs:-D

    Seriously though, i am not sure this is a fabulous idea. there are more important things to fix in the city. I also have to question the city being able to do anything cheaper then private companies. I dont think this is being thought through well. I mean what happens to Comcast or other internet providers in the area when the city takes over?

    It seems an awful lot to go through just so Mayor Street doesnt have to pay for service.

    for $ 10 million, its not that bad, if its truly feasible... i mean there are cities that willingly pay hundreds of millions of dollars to build a stadium for some spoiled sports owner to not move his team.... (is philly one of those with lincoln financial field?)

    No no. we had the whole state pay for our 2 and Pittsburgh's 2 new stadiums. Brilliant. :rolleyes:
