France is an example of what happens when the general population has an incredibly inflated sense of entitlement, resulting from socialism. It's also an example of trade unions run amok.

What are they protesting? Because of economic realities, the government is raising the retirement age to 62. So, they are striking and shutting down the country. :cuckoo:

France's main airport, Charles de Gaulle, has enough fuel to last only a few days, the transport ministry has warned amid strikes against government plans to raise the retirement age.

A ministry spokesman said officials were working to restore aviation fuel supplies. Economy Minister Christine Lagarde urged people "not to panic".

Oil refineries and fuel depots have been hit by the latest strikes.

On Saturday thousands of students have joined a fifth day of demonstrations in less than six weeks. Unions have called for more than 200 marches nationwide.

Police in Paris said 20,000 people were taking part in Saturday's protest when it started, shortly after 1500 local (1300 GMT), compared to 50,000 on 2 October, the last Saturday of protests.

Trapil, the company that operates the fuel pipeline to the Paris airports, told French media on Friday that supplies had stopped and that Roissy-Charles de Gaulle could run out of fuel as early as next week.

Just a matter of time before we are in this same Boat. With the Public Sector unions out in the streets demanding their Ridicules benefits only ever go up, despite economic Realities.

All across Europe, Unions are screaming at their governments and.... and unusually.... the general public is telling the unions "shut the fuck up". Very funny shit.

That's the problem with the nanny state the left wants to create. People begin to feel entitled to things simply because they breathe. Unfortunately, the hammer eventually drops and this is the result.

yea I know, I posted it 2 days ago.....my comment is here-

Why yes sir, exactly what the doctor ordered for us.

We need to give them the power to org. more job sectors so they can cripple the country when they don't get their annual 4.5% increase (in the middle of the 2nd biggest economic downturn since the depression) and their 55 by 30 retirement........they simply need more bargaining power...right? Who can be against that?

I got it; lets just kill the secret vote and cripple the co's /employers ability to say anything at all in the matter as to alternatives to organizing etc. and..... members just have to sign their names to a sheet of paper, more than 50%, of those present say yes, done deal....

One of Napoleons Maxims- "a people brought up on victory , don't know how to accept defeat"....

Or, in today's parlance- "a people brought up on the government teet, don't know when to just let go."
