In what liberals have dubbed a "fake scandal", at least six U.S. soldiers have died while on missions to look for Bowe Bergdahl. Bergdahl has admittted deserting his post in the face of the enemy.

One of those slain solders, has parents who are not content to accept Susan Rice's assertion that Bergdahl "served with honor and distinction". They want to know why their son died.

Perhaps we should send them a liberal who can explain to them it's nothing but a "fake scandal".

The parents of a Chicago-area soldier who they say was killed while searching for missing Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl are demanding an investigation into whether Bergdahl deserted and how his release was engineered.

Pfc. Matthew Martinek, 20, of Bartlett, was killed on patrol in Afghanistan in September 2009 when his unit was hit by a roadside bomb and attacked with a rocket-propelled grenade and gunfire, the military said.

Martinek's mother, Cheryl Brandes, and stepfather, Ken Luccioni, said members of their son's unit in the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment based in Alaska have told them that Martinek was on a mission to search for Bergdahl at the time he died.

“We want a thorough investigation of Bergdahl's action and that the military code of justice is enforced,” Luccioni said Wednesday in a telephone interview. “We don't want to see this swept under the rug.”

The deal to free Bergdahl on Saturday in a trade for five senior Taliban leaders has prompted a firestorm of criticism from fellow soldiers and others who say his disappearance led to the deaths of seven U.S. troops in the ensuing months.

The Pentagon could not confirm those assertions.

An initial Army investigation concluded that Bergdahl voluntarily left his base.

has the pentagon confirmed that anyone died while looking for bergdahl?

everything i've seen indicates the claims that anyone died looking for him are at best dubious.

I would like to know who told the families that their loved ones died while looking for Bergdahl? Was that source reliable? Anyone have an answer?

Since you have "fake scandal" in quotation marks I am assuming you are actually quoting someone?

Please provide the link to this quote, otherwise it has no merit and is nothing but rumor.

Liberals? How is it only our issue when even non-liberals have defended the actions of the President?

Of course, the leftist fanatics will concentrate exclusively on the fact that it's Megyn Kelly asking the questions, and try hard to ignore the fact that it's Bergdahl's own squad mates who trained with him, lived with him, talked to him, found him gone, and searched for him, who are giving the answers.

The ones who were killed while looking for him, were not available for comment.

So what are their names? The ones killed lookng for him.

Does Megyn Kelly say? I can only take 15 seconds of her biased bullshit. So post their names here if the squad members listed them.

That's about the same number of families that Fox put on last year to tell how badly Obamacare had fucked them over,

except the stories turned out to be false.

Did Foxnews ever apologize for that scam?

Bergdahl admitted deserting his post? When did that happen? The answer is it never happened. That means you are a liar. How do I know that you are a liar? I'll explain.

Even if Bergdahl was willingly AWOL (and even THAT has not been established at this point), a soldier is not guilty of desertion until he's been AWOL for 30 days AND it's determined that his absence is a result of a willing choice. Consequently, if Bergdahl was captured, which seems to be the case, then his absence from his post was not his choice. That would mean that he did NOT desert. And THAT means that you are a liar, period.

But thank-you, Little-Acorn, for being the latest conservative on this forum to reveal your anti-American sentiments for all to see.

Boy, the list of anti-American conservatives is getting long pretty darn fast.

Still looking for the proof that those killed were indeed looking for Bergdahl when they were killed. What authority has told the families that is a fact?

Didn't even bother looking at the link, did we?

Whether they were sent to rescue a comrade, or apprehend a deserter, that would be part of their job wouldn't it?

i guess the theory goes that if bergdahl wasn't captured nobody would have gone on patrol anymore.

And you watch, from now on when anyone in Afghanistan as much as stubs a toe the RWnuts will blame it on the 5 guys that were released.

I suppose we're supposed to believe that the only time the soldiers left the safety of their fortified position was to look for Bergdahl. That's nonsense. If and when the soldiers left on ANY mission, they would automatically look for Pvt Bergdahl at the same time they're on patrol for other reasons. That didn't make the search the Bergdahl the primary reason for each and every mission.
