Over A Third of Democrat Primary Voters Favor Gun Confiscation...Screw your Constitutional Rights!

I have no idea about NYC's laws and I don't care to research them. I wonder how much of the delay and cost comes from the absurd system of gun laws that we have. Maybe we need a national registration database to speed things up?
NO!
God am I glad I live in Texas!!!
I can get on Armslist and buy damn near any gun I want as long as it's in Texas.
Thats the way it should be!!
I'm glad you live in Texas too. Will you be packing at church next Sunday?

Since I dont go to Church no.
But if I did? You're damn right I'd be carrying!

Your logic is flawed on both points.

You already made your choice, so you don’t need to qualify your choice that you would only make that choice if you are forced to make that choice. Gun violence and gun accidents will continue to occur. So I am struggling to understand what will be different in the future that would compel you to change your choice. The answer is nothing. So your choice won’t change.

I am a huge supporter of responsible gun ownership. But I am not so naive to believe that gun violence and gun accidents will magically stop. We already have laws in place to discourage the unlawful use of firearms. So I see no reason whatsoever to punish peaceable law abiding citizens for the bad acts of others. So how does that make me a supporter of reckless irresponsible gun ownership?
It seems like you've already made your choice, are you backing away from it? Given the choice between reckless, irresponsible gun ownership and no gun ownership you do not appear to support no gun ownership so the only other option is reckless, irresponsible gun ownership.
Dude, that’s a false choice. It seems your standard is zero gun violence and zero gun accidents. Anything less is reckless and irresponsible. That’s a false choice.

We are talking about 3 out of 100,000 people that are reckless and irresponsible.

That means that 99,997 people out of 100,000 are responsible.

So my point is that as a whole we are extremely responsible already.
That is the choice you are demanding I make. I never said anything about zero violence or accidents. I actually agree we are extremely responsible already. That is why is seems gun control laws should not affect 99.997% of gun owners.

it's because Gun control nuts get cute and make laws that do nothing but infringe on law abiding people.

To keep a handgun in your own home in NYC takes 3-6 months of paperwork and around $600 in fees. That is what RKBA activists see as the goal of gun control freaks like you. How is that not infringement?

Nice dodge. The issue is Dems want everywhere to be like NY, where the laws are used to deny rights to people by making the process so annoying people don't even attempt it.

Why do we need registration? How would that stop NYC from breaking the 2nd amendment?

What would registration accomplish exactly?
I don't think everyone in this country should be able to own or possess a firearm (e.g., criminals, children, loons, etc.).
And there’s already a background check in place for that, right?

So what does registration accomplish that background checks don’t already do?
How many guns are sold with background checks?

As I said before, make ACTIONS illegal, not inanimate objects. Try to keep up. I'm not religious, but if I were I'd carry in church. It is no different from the mall, a restaurant, movie, the park, or anywhere else people congregate.

The only purpose for a gun registry is to make confiscations easier.

The poll question did not specify whether those who were polled favored the "confiscation" of all firearms, or just certain types, so it's not worth much.

So you're sure that there is nothing we can do to prevent gun violence? We shouldn't even talk about it?

Nor do you think everyone in this country should be able to express their views or practice the religion of their choice.

You're a Stalinist, you seek to crush civil rights.

Exactly whose views or religion am I trying to silence? Exactly whose civil rights am I trying to crush? You're not just making stuff up are you?

Maybe we need a national registration database to speed things up?
Should we register the guns we already own too?
Sure, why not?
Because it serves no purpose. What purpose would it serve?
My gut tells me it would be useful to know what happened to your gun collection when you died or got arrested for a gun crime or were found to be mentally deranged.

I know a lot of folk see themselves as ready to use their guns to fight the tyranny of King George, should he return, but I think it more likely that those guns will be used on ourselves.

My gut tells me that you want a list so that they are easier to confiscate.

You should have your gut looked at, I think it is suffering from paranoia. Are there any historical US examples of such a thing?
You mean beside your attempt to do so now?

I don’t believe we have been stupid enough to let your kind try.

A little food for thought....

Nope... They will be used on the socialists who think taking away my right to protect myself and my GOD GIVEN RIGHTS is ok to do... And that is why democrats are so damn scared of us...

There is a LOT we can do about CRIMINALS who use guns in crime. Stop allowing Democrat big city District Attorneys from plea bargaining down gun charges so these often multiple FELONS get little or no jail time. They are the ones who commit the vast majority of violent crime. That's a start.

I agree but there is no single, simple solution to any complex problem.
