Slice onions, place in oil or butter, saute until translucent.

Add a tsp of sugar and some flour, turn up the heat and cook until start to carmelize.

Deglaze with red wine, add a few cups of vegetable or beef stock. Pour into greased baking dish, put sliced, toasted french bread and sprinkle liberally with cheese.

Bake until cheese is completely melted.

    Mmm.

You won't get any pos rep from Pilgrim over this one.

    He is bigoted against onions.

But he doesn't know bout Walla Walla onions.

    Pity him.

    I pity him.
My kids aren't into onions, either.

    So I get it ALL.
