"...to help you[Brazil] with the technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely, and when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers,” Obama said.
Obama Tells Rousseff U.S. to Be Among Brazil’s ‘Best Customers’ - Businessweek

    How does helping Brazil
    1) create oil jobs -
    2) increase oil payments - 'best customer"

    without

    1) destroying oil jobs in the USA
    2) increasing oil payments to Brazil
    3) reducing revenue to states/local economies/Federal revenue

    to be continued...

    Brazil's economy surpasses Britain...

Brazil bumps Britain to become world's sixth largest economy
December 27, 2011 - Thanks in part to soybeans and iron ore, cars, and coffee, Brazil has overtaken Britain as the world's sixth largest economy - though there are some clouds on the horizon.

I'm not sure what buying oil from Brazil has to do with anything other than buying oil from Brazil.

Would you rather we purchase oil from Iran?

An increase in Brazil’s oil on the world market will reduce oil’s overall price, the concept of supply and demand, and will ultimately save America money.

It wont reduce oil prices if we curtail our own production. Brazilian oil will simply substitute for American. Which is probably what Obama has in mind.

All those huge tankers, carrying oil from Brazil.
But... pipeline it down from Canada?

    Nope.
