If JFK was alive today he would be considered a Republican and be hated / villainized by the Democratic Party.
Trump would vomit over what a Republican looks like today

He was used to dealing with REAL Republicans like Eisenhower

I think he would be saddened to see that his party actually considered running a Socialist.

They did huh.

When? Who?

Don't be dense, you know exactly who I'm talking about.

Whelp -- if you can't articulate your point, you never had one. Moving on.

I was obviously speaking of Bernie Sanders, however you're setting up some kind of silly "got you" on the Internet.

Thank you. So apparently you weren't paying attention during the campaigns. Bernie Sanders got undermined at every turn by the Democratic Party, of which he wasn't even a member until he launched a Presidential run. I saw primaries where Hillary had delegates awarded before voting even started. Ever hear of a woman named Debbie Wasserman-Schultz?

So no, the party never "considered" Sanders. It considered Clinton and it considered dumping everybody else. And that's what it did. And incidentally Sanders isn't a Socialist anyway -- he's a self-described Democratic Socialist. Not that that's got anything to do with the old established political party.

On the other side the Republican Party considered everybody but when Rump won the primaries it failed to consider its own health. It too could have dumped its primary winner and nominated, say, the establishment guy from Ohio, exactly as it did in 1912.

So in sum one party committed a sin of commission, the other a sin of omission, and the electorate got fucked.

Not directly responding to the topic question, but here's an interesting photo of JFK campaigning in West Virginia in 1960.

Check out the kid in the foreground, right side.

Even though it wasn't a theme of his in those different times, perhaps he'd be most ashamed, like anyone of 1960 who jumped into a time machine express to the present, on how violent we've become.

Although I suspect he had an inkling in his last moment.

JFK would be dismayed at his Party's radical departure from Free Market Capitalism to euro socialist cronyism.

Not like the Kennedy clan was high on morals or anything. I mean, one went down for rape and murder, one drowned a woman.

Ah, Teddy uh, was out with Mary Jo, proceeding with great vigah and exploring new frontiers.

And, ah, Mary Jo said to Teddy,"Uh,Teddy, uh, Teddy, what if I get pregnant?"

And ah, Teddy said to Mary Jo, "Ah, don't worry about that now, uh, Mary Jo. We shall cross that bridge when we come to it."

A little boy playing with a toy gun is not violence. Millions of kids played with them as did I and never turned into liberal killers.

That's nothing. William Kennedy Smith, they turd that raped the baby sitter used a time honored trick to keep her in the compound. Yeah, he just told her that she was going to stay there and have sex with them or Uncle Ted was going to drive her home.

A Walking Disaster for Everyone, Just Like the Buchanans in The Great Gatsby

The Kennedys got a lot of people killed because they were careless, hasty, and reckless but nevertheless sure of themselves as pilots, captains, and drivers. Earlier, Teddy had gotten the pilot and another passenger killed because he insisted on flying in bad weather.

Joe Junior was warned by his aircraft electrician that the wiring on his plane was malfunctioning and his flight needed to be delayed until it could be fixed. But he overrode that, so he and his whole crew blew up because of typical Kennedy conceit and disregard for others.

Without a doubt the resurgence of fascism in America.

Second only to Trump being President.
