But you know what? Time and history have a way of righting wrongs which ultimately allows people to review and then reassess previously held views of public figures. Sometimes those reassessments can lead to more favorable views. That's the case with Truman. Other times, a little more information which was previously hidden can lead to the public disgrace (there's that word again) of a previously highly regarded public figure. Such was the case with Nixon who resigned in public disgrace less than two years after winning the 1972 election with a staggering electoral count of 520 to 17 for McGovern.

Additionally, the tapes that were released conclusively proved that Nixon was a racist anti-Semite who swore like a sailor and was hip deep in the attempt to cover up his staff's involvement in the Watergate break-in.

Consequently, I'm actually quite confident that Trump's entire history will eventually come to light, and, in fact, much of it already has to one degree or another.

There are two final shoes to drop before Trump reaps what he's sowed all his life. One is this: Republicans come to realize that Trump is tearing down the Rep Party and turning the Millennials against Republicans for a generation if not more. The other is when his voters come to understand, like the Trump University folks of a few years past, that Trump has conned them all even as he enriched himself in the process. He won't be able to lie himself out of that mess. But he'll certainly try. By then, it will only seem pathetic. And the American public will have the last laugh because Trump's brand will be worthless at that point.
