Ohio voting for reproductive rights

Issue 1 is a ballot measure that, if approved, would change the Ohio Constitution to include protections for abortion access. According to ballot language, the measure would establish in the state constitution "an individual right to one's own reproductive medical treatment," including to make decisions on abortion, contraception, fertility treatment, continuing one's own pregnancy and miscarriage care.

If approved, the amendment, titled "The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety," would protect any person or entity that helps a patient receive reproductive medical treatment and prohibit Ohio from "directly or indirectly burdening, penalizing or prohibiting abortion" before viability, generally considered to be between 22 and 24 weeks of pregnancy.

Abortion is not “reproductive medical treatment”. There is nothing “reproductive” about it, the reproductive act has already been done.

Reproduction creates life. Abortion destroys it.

Being located in WV along the Southern Border of Ohio, I see far more signs up against issue 1. Just noting........doesn't really mean anything as it's more rural here.

A referendum is surely the best way to resolve these issues. Why is the rest of the country not holding similar polls ?
No. A referendum is not the best way to resolve whether someone can avail themselves of healthcare.

Its brazenly stupid to think that you should have to get government to allow you to have a medical procedure done.

Maybe Ohioans are taking this election as a referendum on the totally failed Democrat response to the Palestine train derailment and environmental disaster. Abortion is just as available as it ever was. MAGA

Any law (speaking generically) that ignores the existence of the second LIFE is illegitimate. The Ohio measure appears to presume that the baby's life does not exist until "viability." It's RvW all over again.

Any pregnant woman who doesn't get her shit together in the first 15 weeks probably should not be reproducing in any event.

Not if this fails and people like you have their way

We are many times speaking about minors.

Killing babies isn’t a “medical procedure”….Abortion is contraception for ignorant, dirty liberal whores…that’s all.
