Justice Dept. warns North Carolina to ditch bathroom law or possibly lose millions in federal funding

Does anyone in North Carolina actually want to send their kids to school, anyway? That's the funding the govt. is threatening to pull.

Any law these days that restricts the civil rights of any group is going to fail. I'm glad North Carolina's governor is being schooled in this truth.

You are likely correct. However it is exactly what the DOJ ruling does. Unless:

1. Somehow they can claim that a trans male is less like a male and more like a female. I'm going to be laughing my ass off during that argument, or

2. All restrooms/lockers/showers must be unisex. In that case the courts will have to look at laws passed to "level the playing field" between genders, and find them unconstitutional as well.

but don't forget to point out the solutions when you find those also!

I firmly believe that there are spiritual or metaphysical solution to human problems. I do not believe those solutions come from dogmatic beliefs about life and Spirit. It can only come from a sustained connection with "intent' the power that runs the Universe . I call it OSOTU an acronym for "Operating System f the Universe"..It is an enigma within a mystery wrapped in conundrum yet it is capable of a personal relationship with humans. I refer to thatfacet of OSOTU as Tetra....short for Tetragramaton ...a Hebrew name that means the four sounds of God.
Only maintaining a sustained open channel to Tetra can make one healthy wealthy and wise. If Christian ministries facilitate that then great. To me Christianity though is suspect due to activities inconsistent with "love is the only engine of survival"
here is an example of Christian action inconsistent with Love...leaving a woman stranded on a road and snarking her to "call the government" ..

Given the above scenario, what is the equivalent, something we have seen on the flip side?

One person cited a case where rioters attacked and terrorized a woman in her vehicle for
supporting Trump, where the counter protestors crossed the line with civil protest and started illegal vandalism and violence.
to the crowd's credit, one man noticed that the woman was terrified and begging them to stop and
tried to signal the group to stand down.

I would not use this one bad example to say that all people on that side of the fence are disrespectful and hypocrites.

If you want to discredit a group, heck, even the Buddhists who used to be cited as one of the only groups
not committing religious violence against others can't argue that as much anymore, given the uprisings in the east against Muslims.

So no group is without its hypocrisy and danger of becoming an intolerant cult!

since each person is flawed, has biases and people/groups we cannot forgive and will reject on their face,
any collective group of flawed persons has this same capacity times the number of members of the group.
Plus when you get a collective identity going, that takes on a life of its own and makes it worse.

All groups are going to have this problem, with the collective force of the greater whole
outnumbering the check of individual citizens and risking censorship, oppression of due process, and collectively
targeting and punishing people "by association" with an opposing group or ideology.

I will reread what you posted about how you express the divine elements and forces in spirituality.
maybe there is some common language there we can both relate to,
while we sort through the sad political state of affairs humanity tends to bring on ourselves.
we are in the same boat together, and it is that higher will connected to the divine that leads us out of the fray.
Whatever we may call that, we need to tap into that, and unite in agreement on the better side
of humanity, and solutions that offers, in order to effectively address the problems caused by our worse flaws, no matter
which group we sympathize with and which we blame, we are all equally responsible as a whole for fixing these messes.

Better get to work now, we can't afford to waste time and resources

Look at DOJ definition of domestic abuse and violence.

Coercion by bullying is a form of relationship abuse. Here, political power and govt authority is abused to that effect.
Targeting, harassing/insulting and now penalizing people for their beliefs!

If you don't agree with LGBT sympathizers being targeted, namecalled, and attacked politically for espousing those beliefs,
what sense does it make to attack people of the opposing beliefs?

Technically, TyroneSlothrop enacting and enforcing laws
that discriminate on the basis of CREED also violates equal civil rights.
But people are ignoring that side of the coin and only enforcing one side of the violations going on.

If you look at proof that spiritual healing can change orientation,
that shows the issue is spiritual and faith based. So govt should not be involved either way.

Oh, I doubt it's a bluff. Restricting the rights of a group of people in violation of the Civil Rights Act is actionable. NC can 'call' them on it, but they'll be out more millions of dollars than this law has already cost them in lost business.
