Obama's Choice for Ebola Czar lacks Medical Knowledge

Ben Carson? Great idea. He's got tons of infectious disease experience.

Ben Carson should be in Africa helping save his 'people'. lol
spoken like a racist liberal.....

besides.... what would a neurosurgeon know about ebola....?

So now mere references to Carson being black are racist? We have to pretend now he's what color?

why do you say he should save 'his people' in Africa....? why would they be 'his people'...? got any other reason than his being black...?

Why am I invariably called a racist because I think he's an idiot?
It's your sides definition of "idiot". Live with it.

If obama didn't do this for political reasons and felt the need for an Ebola Czar he should have asked Ben Carson.

Not fun having it turned back on you is it, racist?
Democrats have a history of being racist. It's just the way they are.

Propaganda Czar.
we have a new Czar! Congratulations Sheeple. Your panic has resulted in the the birth of a new government agency.

WAKE UP...there was NO NEED for this prick to become a CZAR and give away MORE BILLIONS to proplr that will do NOTHING to remedy the situation!

You want to send a message to the People that things are under control and working towards that end. Someone with a medical background achieves that.

Not really. Doctors are trained in healing people, not in running things. The Administrator isn't going to be the guy running into the clinic to treat people -- think about it.

Fair enough. But, a hack whose legacy is running point on the hanging chad crisis is not a step in the right direction. Get an ex agency head or CEO.

The guy wasn't chosen for his medical expertise, since he has none. The Dems who support him say that he can control the message economically, medically and politically. A smart person would be more interested in actually stopping the spread of Ebola rather than doing PR for the WH.

I was hoping Obama would finally make a smart decision and put an experienced doctor in charge to plan for a potential outbreak. Instead, we get a guy who is good at spinning. I see where the priorities are with this administration.

He’ll control the message better than most people would, which is really important from an economic standpoint, from a health standpoint, but it’s also important from a political perspective,” one official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because no formal announcement had been made.

Like Anderson Cooper said, this guy can make the trains run on time.

The trains to the Ebola camps.

The czars job will be to protect Obabble....period.
No, we always hold the president responsible for whatever happens during his term of office. Czar's protect dept. and agency heads. It's always easier to sacrifice a Czar than the people who are actually making the decisions. Whenever the media stirs the pot enough, the president appoints a Czar. There's been 110 appointed by presidents
His legacy, after all is said and done, will be "THE EBOLA PRESIDENT".

As he has done for six years, he dithered until it is too late.

Too many people anyway, best we can hope for is that it runs its course in a decade or two.

Hey, maybe when an American actually dies from Ebola he got in the US you'll have one microscopic iota of grounds to complain.
Give it a month or two.

Obama said it can't happen, so, you know it will.

I mean, we are in the hands of Obama, and nurses who don't have the sense not to fly all over the country when exposed to and contracting Ebola.

We are no more prepared for Ebola than we are for Martians.

Soon, the world will belong to hermits living in the woods alone, avoiding human contact until it burns out.

If not you'll be dead from climate change...

Knows absolutely nothing about medicine! An ambulance chaser and political hack. And this should make us all feel safer? Every day, in every way, we see the absolute ineptitude of the Organizer-inChief.
Yesterday the deranged were bitching about no Ebola czar, today they're bitching because there is one.

A bitching republican is a happy republican.
They'd bitch if they shyt gold nuggets...

This guy doesn't need any medical experience. His job is controlling the message. Propaganda.
According to WIKI that's simply not true
Czar is an informal title for certain high-level officials in the United States and United Kingdom. Political czars can run or organize governmental departments, and may devote their expertise to a single area of work. The "czars" have various official titles which may include the terms adviser, director, administrator, or diplomatic envoy, but such titles are often quite long or awkward sounding.
The term czar has no place in a democracy.

Who started such shit, Reagan?

You want to send a message to the People that things are under control and working towards that end. Someone with a medical background achieves that. The very last thing the US needs to see in this crisis is another political hack assuming yet another czar position. If this were a Republican, I would feel the exact same way. Namely, how would you like to see a Karl Rove-like crony step into manage a virus threat? You Democrats need to take the blinders off.
I disagree. The higher up the chain of command the more impact the message has. You need people at the lower levels to cover the details and higher levels to cover policy.

Although agency heads usually have the most knowledge and experience, they aren't always the best people to deal with the media and political aspects. They often lack the image, political savvy, and connections need to survive a media storm and a dog and pony show in congress.

So, how long will it take for Czar Klain to blame the Tea Party for Ebola?
