Obama was right. We should be concentrating on jobs GOP says we can't make.

How many times has the GOP said government "can't make jobs".

Even when Republican members of congress were grubbing for stimulus money they voted against to upgrade trains, fix bridges, install high speed internet, pave roads and so on. I've posted numerous links showing over a hundred GOP congressmen and senators applying for and receiving money from said "stimulus".

Obama said we should be concentrating on "Jobs Jobs Jobs" (actually he said it only one time, as opposed to Republicans who collectively said it thousands of times just before the last election).

Only, the current crop of Republicans said they NEVER ran on "Jobs Jobs Jobs" because government "can't make jobs". Which is odd since so many received "stimulus" money.

So now, apparently, we may be able to concentrate on the next election.

Will Republicans, once again, run on "Jobs Jobs Jobs"? Will America believe it? Again? With corporations sitting on trillions, will America vote for leaders who want to give them even more GOP subsidies? With the wealthy holding the most money in American history, will America side with the GOP to give them even more tax breaks? Will America march side by side with the GOP leaders, hoping they move more of the tax burden to the middle class to keep taxes on the wealthy as low as possible? Will the elderly gratefully thank the GOP for the few thousand dollars they will be given to go look for an insurance policy they know will never be found in lieu of Medicare?

Will the GOP run on "Government can't make jobs" and win?

The next election will be interesting. No doubt it.

Oh so now he wants to work on jobs. Maybe he should have thought about that nearly 3 years ago when he took office.

He wants to conveniently ignore the fact that he has been forcing through legislation the American people didn't want and that have put more burdens on the economy and pretend as if he has had no chance to fix things. What's more amazing is that you are blindly issuing talking points as well.

Please rdean. Don't insult our intelligence by pretending that Obama gives a damn about American jobs suddenly. How convenient that it's right around election time.

"Well, I'm here to tell you, some time in the next couple of months, we're going to be creating between 250,000 jobs a month and 500,000 jobs a month." -- Joe Biden, April 2010

How many time have I heard Obama say he's "focused like a laser on creating jobs"..
He's focused like a laser on health Care....
He's focused like a laser on Debt Limit....
    He's focused like a laser on....building a new and better laser......maybe

How bout Joe Biden promising 500k jobs a month?
How bout those shovel ready jobs?
How bout the Summer of Recovery 2010....now 2011?
How about shoving Health Care down our throats...when this administration doesn't even know what's in the bill?
Nancy Pelosi said we need to pass it to find out what's in it....
Let's constantly push to raise taxes on the people who actually might have the money needed to create jobs?
Let's continue on this path of beating the crap out of anyone who wants to have the government spend less ....
The Democrat's answer and it's the answer for everything....Spend more....spend more....Spend even more.

Oh, yeah. I'm just praying that the independents have a long enough memory to bring them back to this summer, the Party of No, and the economy almost being driven over a cliff while the [expletive-deleted] had fits. Can't wait.

I have to say, Im fairly amused that rdean is always waiting around for some politician to create jobs. Maybe one of these days he will get off his lazy butt and make his own.

Isn't that the dirty little secret? We don't need government to do anything in order to create jobs.

Government does create jobs though. That's just a fact. Government projects to create and repair infrastructure provide opportunity that construction companies may not have otherwise had (particularly in a weak housing market). Public schools provide employment for millions of jobs for people including, teachers/administrators, food services, and cleaning services. Not only that, but teachers spend a great deal of their salary buying supplies (aka putting money back into the economy). Bureaucrats are people too, they spend money. And as if that isn't enough, the government provides unemployment for people that enables some to have enough money to start their own businesses!

Tell me, what do you do to create jobs?

Well, somebody tell the Repubs and their followers that the government doesn't create jobs. That's been one of the things they've been bitching at Obama for since he took office. "Where are the jobs?", they asked the Dems. Then there was a rodent infestation at the House - still no jobs.
