Obama was right. We should be concentrating on jobs GOP says we can't make.

Seriously dude, WTF are you talking about. What laws? Non sequitur much?

Tax subsidies to start with.

This picture is a great illustration.............................

I could go on, but dont feel like wasting my time.

You are..

We don't live in "Bizzaro World"..

LOL I understand. Facts dont agree with you.

How many times has the GOP said government "can't make jobs".

Even when Republican members of congress were grubbing for stimulus money they voted against to upgrade trains, fix bridges, install high speed internet, pave roads and so on. I've posted numerous links showing over a hundred GOP congressmen and senators applying for and receiving money from said "stimulus".

Obama said we should be concentrating on "Jobs Jobs Jobs" (actually he said it only one time, as opposed to Republicans who collectively said it thousands of times just before the last election).

Only, the current crop of Republicans said they NEVER ran on "Jobs Jobs Jobs" because government "can't make jobs". Which is odd since so many received "stimulus" money.

So now, apparently, we may be able to concentrate on the next election.

Will Republicans, once again, run on "Jobs Jobs Jobs"? Will America believe it? Again? With corporations sitting on trillions, will America vote for leaders who want to give them even more GOP subsidies? With the wealthy holding the most money in American history, will America side with the GOP to give them even more tax breaks? Will America march side by side with the GOP leaders, hoping they move more of the tax burden to the middle class to keep taxes on the wealthy as low as possible? Will the elderly gratefully thank the GOP for the few thousand dollars they will be given to go look for an insurance policy they know will never be found in lieu of Medicare?

Will the GOP run on "Government can't make jobs" and win?

The next election will be interesting. No doubt it.

This must be an old 2009 post.....

Government cannot "create" jobs per se. It can only change the structure of production. Every dollar the government uses to create jobs is a dollar taken from the free market to create jobs, and the free market creates jobs based on supply and demand not political favoritism. Not to mention bureaucrats suck up money with bloated salaries and produce nothing. Government only distorts the market when it creates jobs by stealing private jobs.

Oh bullshit. And another indication you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. How about you step outside and check out the type of vehicle you police are riding in?

Ford? Chevy? That's government spending.

That's putting people to work.

And doing so in the private sector.

You guys really need to take some economics courses.
Calling it bullshit does not make it wrong. Reread the bold, because you obviously missed the point entirely. Government can only create jobs by destroying other jobs. It is impossible to prove otherwise, because resources are scarce, and government takes those resources from the private sector. You see the man fixing your sidewalk (or in my city, the 1 man fixing the sidewalk and the other 4 doing nothing) but you do not see all the jobs that would have existed had the resources not been taken from the private sector to create them. Those other 4 workers are useless. Had the money been in the private sector, at least 4 other jobs would exist. Government is not creating wealth. It takes wealth out of the private sector, preventing the free market from using it. Then it uses it. You are operating under the broken window fallacy, seeing the seen and ignoring the unseen.

I hope Obama attacks the job issue with the same vigor that he attacked the debt ceiling.

He was directed, organized, formidable, and victorious.. Him and the Dems emerges as a more powerful and cohesive force....

Now that is truly funny.

Thanks.

The government doesn't create jobs?

us-jobs-by-sector-1970-2010.gif
On net balance, no. Ask yourself: Where does government get the money to fund these jobs? The answer is from the free market. It taxes it. All government jobs are created at the expense of free market private sector jobs. Jobs are destroyed. At best, you will have an equal number of jobs destroyed, and an equal number created. In reality, more are destroyed than created because you have to pay bureaucrats, and government is wasteful.

Not to mention employment is a means, not an ends. Jobs that are useless might as well not exist. They are wasting resources. So no, government does not create jobs. It redistributes them at best, and due to inefficiency it on net balance often creates a loss of jobs.

Oh yes, the next election will be interesting. It's going to look like November 2010 all over again--with Democrats losing every seat they have and Barack Obama dressed up in a Custer's last stand uniform. Democrats are going to be wiped out.

As far as 1 trillion dollars that was WASTED in all this bridge building--which turned into "temporarily saving government workers jobs"--to then Nancy Pelosi referring to unemployment checks as economic stimulus--Barack Obama's flood the basement economic policies have been a complete disaster.

Unemployment is UP--all of Wall Street gains in 2011 have been wiped out--Obama is spending 4.3 BILLION dollars a DAY that we do not have--and the ONLY ones in congress that have any common sense regarding this is the new Freshman tea party members.

PROVING once again that the Federal Government cannot create private sector jobs. The ONLY power they have is to encourage private sector businesse's go grow--expand and hire--with regulation and tax policies. And with this economic terrorist and his comrades in charge--you are not going to see JOB GROWTH in this country until they are long gone.

2012 CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH!

How come the Stock Market is dropping like a stone? I thought "Teabirthers" winning was supposed to signal a stable economy? Anyone think billionaires are going to "rush to make jobs"?

Watch them blame it on Obama. Their policies work, they just aren't given enough of a chance.

We could be buried up to our necks at the beach with the tide rushing in and they will say, "Give it a minute more blub blub blub".

Is that a fancy way of saying Republican policies are a disaster?

The economy isn't Obama's fault yet?

Was the stimulus Obama's fault?

The 60% part of it that worked was. The 40% that was tax cuts came from Republicans. That's the part that failed.

Republicans weren't even in the room, how could 40% be Republican? :cuckoo:

Well, I'm sure the 60% that worked will be a comfort as we dip into another recession and unemployment continues to climb.

Are you better off then you were 4 years ago.....doesn't look like it.
Buh bye Obama.

It looks like Obama wants a little more help with the jobs problem. After all he has borrowed and spent a trillion dollars to temporarily save government workers jobs that-didn't work--so now most of his time is spent on the Golf Course--or some campaign fundraiser event.

Hail to the Commander and Chief who leads from the REAR.

If the GOP in Congress, primarily the TeaPots, does not pull its collective head out of its asshole and work on jobs creation, the dems will smear us next year.

We should win both houses hands down, but the Tea Pots apparently don't want to. Why?

I saw enough of them state that they don't care about reelection to understand that they are doing the congressional version of a suicide mission.

LOL Thanks for the laugh.

But I never underestimate useful idiots, especially with your numbers here.

Watch the Tea Pot popularity polls hit single digits by Monday.

The average American is infuriated with Congress going on vacation and the FAA workers going without.

The dems are going to take some hits on this while the Tea Pots will take a full salvo in the boiler room.
