Obama Scolds Graduates For Getting News From Playstations

ROFLMAO!!!!!

You really are dense. There is a pattern of him attacking the media that are not licking his boots. This is just yet another attempt, a bit more veiled, to discredit those who are critical of his policies.

Boyking, Obama, a “boy” who is an empty suit, a racist, terrorist, child molester, Marxist, Kenyan, watermelon eating, totalitarian, Socialist, drug addicted, gay, Nazi, black, Muslim, Communist, illegal Alien who wants to kill your grandmother and is the "anti Christ"?

White wing description of the President. Sure glad none of it is a lie. It's all true. Just ask any "white winger".

I think you need to learn to separate justified criticism and "attacking". That's like saying I'm attacking a dictator when I call them a tyrant. Again, get reading comprehension, and I'd recommend you just stop posting in this thread. You've embarrassed yourself enough as it is that even I'm feeling pity for you with each passing post.

Obama is clearly discouraging graduates from paying attention to the alternative media which is critical of him. It's UNPRESIDENTIAL. You can spin until you resemble Linda Blair in the Exorcist - but it won't change the fact that Obama is a thin-skinned whinger who whinges.

You keep moving the goalposts as to what Obama was saying. First you said he was attacking playstations, now you're saying he's discouraging graduates from paying attention to the alternative media.

Try to get your talking points straight next time before making a thread.

Doggie = FAIL

Look at Obama's comment regarding talk radio. The objective of his speech was to discourage the use of alternative media by graduates.

Incredibly Unpresidential of him.

You have no idea about the objective of his speech. Hell, you don't even know what a playstation is from the sounds of it. Never mind the fact you seem to believe that information = news. Again, get your talking points straight next time, you might do better with your hackery.

Good little Doggie. Good little Obama Lap Doggie.

Just keep yourself blind and ignorant. That's what Obama wants.

For the rest of us who read and retain knowledge, what Obama is doing is very Transparent - the only area in which he has kept his promise of Transparency is in his attacks on those who are critical of him.

It's useless trying to have a conversation with you Boe when you are so blinded by your hackery. Go back to watching Fox News, you need the talking points.

The article is from AFP, not Fox.

Sorry to disappoint you Doggie, but I get my information from a wide variety of sources, none of which happen to be Xboxes or Playstations.

Are you saying that you cannot surf the interwebz and get news on a playstation 3? Is that what you are insinuating?

Obama must really hate that information is no longer controlled by the Big Three Networks and a handful of major metro newspapers.

Obama, who often chides journalists and cable news outlets for obsessing with political horse race coverage rather than serious issues, told a class of graduating university students that education was the key to progress.

"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth meter," Obama said at Hampton University, Virginia.

"With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, -- none of which I know how to work -- information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation," Obama said.

He bemoaned the fact that "some of the craziest claims can quickly claim traction," in the clamor of certain blogs and talk radio outlets.

"All of this is not only putting new pressures on you, it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy."[/i]

AFP: Obama bemoans 'diversions' of IPod, Xbox era

Does anyone else find it troubling that Obama continues to attack the alternative media which is critical of him?

Another Pot-->Kettle moment from Dear Leader.

He's the LAST person on earth who ought to be criticizing anybody else for putting out "distractions" or "diversions". His entire life is spent in partisan hackery, trying to propagandize his slimy, leftist agenda. Audacity really was the most apt word to describe his consistent political antics, and probably the only honest word he's ever used in the public arena.

I feel sorry for all those parents who put out good money for a college education for their kids, only to have this bozo taint their special day by once more making HIMSELF, his ginormous ego, and his constant whining about his inability to utterly control freedom of speech, the focal point of their event.

Thing is Obama is chastizing folks for looking for alternative sources. The rhetoric about the device was just that. Rhetoric as to the real intent of what he was stating.

He's trying to tell people again what to do with their devices no matter what they are capable of.

He's transparent.

Are you saying that you cannot surf the interwebz and get news on a playstation 3? Is that what you are insinuating?

Not saying that at all. Dunno where you even got that from my post. I surf the web on my PS3 from time to time personally. But I prefer my laptop since it's easier.

Boe seems to think that information from video games (like Call of Duty) = News.

Obama was talking about how people in my generation sometimes fill their heads with information that is useless while ignoring information that is vital to their education. I'm not picking on Call of Duty though, I love to play it, but I know people who had played it for a week straight when it came out. Don't even get me started on games like World of Warcraft. There are people who play those games who know things I couldn't even begin to talk about, but can't tell you about current events and important things going on in the world.

It's not wrong to play video games, however, it is unhealthy when video games take precedence over everything else.

No, I think that Obama is a whinging hypocrite who exploited the honor of speaking at a commencement ceremony to trash the media that is critical of him.

He's the one who dragged Xboxes and Playstations into it.

I brushed through the thread with special attention to Boe's posts and saw nowhere that she said people get their news from videogames?
Are you making stuff up?

It's clear that Doggie is, quite unsuccessfully, attempting to deflect attention from Obama's attacks on the blogs and talk radio which are critical of his policies.

Nope. She seems to think Obama is going after Playstation and Xboxes because supposedly he's going after alternative media. Where in reality, he's not doing that at all.

This thread is just a excuse for the cries that Obama is attacking the media, where he's doing nothing of the sort. If he were attacking people from playing Xboxes and Playstations in general, I'd be the first one on here to say he is wrong. However, I think I tend to know how my generation works just a bit better than those on here. :eusa_eh:

Except where did he ever attack anyone for criticizing his policies? We live in the age of 24/7 media and technology. That is a great thing, however it comes with it's drawbacks at times. That includes a drawback where lies spread very quickly, and it takes a helluva lot more time to refute the lie then it was to spread it.

A great example is when a celebrity is reported to be dead.
