No had President Bush limited his spending to 1 tenth of 1 percent of what he actually spend in the invasion and occupation of Iraq we'd be in a lot better shape. Well 800 billion dollars + interest, less anyway.

Look Otis, if spending 1 tenth of 1 percent of what was spent during the invasion and occupation on economic aid, that will likely involve purchasing US good or services, to aid those folk so we might not have to invade or use the miltitary to save their asses, I think is not a bad idea.

The proposals are part of Obama's budget request for fiscal year 2013, which begins October 1. His requests need the approval of Congress, where some lawmakers want to cut overseas spending to address U.S. budget shortfalls and are particularly angry at Egypt.
Obama proposed $51.6 billion in funding for the U.S. State Department and foreign aid overall, when $8.2 billion in assistance to war zones is included. The "core budget" for the category would increase by 1.6 percent, officials said.
