Obama On Eliminating Employer Healthcare Coverage

Yes he was for single payor healthcare.

the privatized protion of Medicare costs 14% more than traditional medicare.

"Employer-sponsored health insurance" and "private insurance" are not synonymous.

Believe it or not, you could actually have a marketplace where you, the individual consumer, shop for the private insurance plan you want for yourself instead of accepting the one your employer chooses for you.

Yes but if you had seen the clip, which is apparently impossible now as I've looked extensively and cannot find a clip that has not had it's Youtube account removed, he says specifically that he foresees a transition period of possibly 5 to 10 or even 20 years after which there would be no private coverage.

This statement seems to stand in stark contrast with what he's been saying since '09.

We should support the reform.

Americans should be thinking about achieving the best possible healthcare for the entire population at the most reasonable cost.

Few are.

This issue, like so many in American politics, seems much more about partisan loyalty than anything to do with the issue itself.
