Obama just lost the election.

So in a time like this where the state of the economy hangs in the balance, you'd rather the candidates use their "influence" by getting involved in a matter they have no educational background in.

Sounds like you're advocating that Country First become Politics First.

HAve you seen anything in his posts that indicates otherwise?

you guys keep on making stuff up.

it's kind of funny.

whats funny is how you mock a senator suspending campaigning to do his job....you're just jealous because you boy wonder doesn't know how to be a leader or a senator as he has been campaigning from day one on the job.

you know for a fact if this was the other way around you hacks would be ridiculing mccain for focusing on the campaign more than the economy and obama would have created a ad saying....look, see how out of touch mccain is, he thinks the campaign is more important than doing his job in DC at this critical time for the economy.

pathetic

The man is not only a high influential member of the United States Senate he is also one of two possible people who will inherit this mess in a few months. You're damn right I expect him to use his influence. It would be dereliction of duty not to.

What's pathetic is that McCain uses the crisis as an excuse to avoid the debates...not htat I blame him....

You're really not paying attention. It's Bush, Obama,Pelosi, Redi, Dodd and Franks who are trying to shove this bill through.

Watch for McCain to modify it to a loan (big difference then thew government buying securities) but much smaller and to change the Mark to Market ratio. That's my prediction. If McCain accomplishes that he will be national hero and rightfully so.

Really now? I notice you throw in the offical GOP scapegoat into those names.

John McCain wants to pass this bailout.

Obama doesn't want these companies CEOs to get $140 billion dollars in salaries.

Oh now he's doing his job? What about all those other months he was out on the campaign trail and not doing his job? That's okay?

You ignored the 'educational background' part of his post...

What is McCain's supposed job in this matter? What educational background does he have in banking and finances that renders him useful or even necessary?

His JOB would be to show up when the bill makes it to the floor, at which time his JOB would be to debate and/or vote.

:iagree: :iagree: :iagree:

You couldn't be anymore right Paulitics.

To all you Obama supporters: You're right, this was all political by McCain, the public will see right through it, McCain will be slaughtered in the debates and Obama will cruise to victory. Pay no further attention. Obama has it all under control.

Pesky logic and facts ...

When and if he "inherits" this mess as president, he will have his economic advisors and pertinent cabinet members to help him handle the situation and decisions he will be faced with.

That's completely different from getting involved in brokering something which he HIMSELF has no background in, nor seat on any committee pertaining to it.

none but he does have influence when it's time to rally the troops when the time comes---connections !
