Obama Joker Poster goes to far?...

Not evading. I believed by telling you not for the same purpose as you I answered but I will elaborate.

I come to political forums to:

debate intelligently
discuss the issues
read opinions and views
learn
maybe teach some
because I can
laugh,sometimes be amused
enjoy the political chatter

But in summation I come to forums because I now realize my experience and my world is only a small part of the world. I don't have all the answers and neither does any political party.

Do I like Obama as a President? Not much. But I still want to exercise my right to interact with those who may have voted for him as well as those who did not.

Mal I am a political animal but I am not a political slave.

I think I really like the new Dreamy.

She's dreamy.

haha

I like her better too. I am beholden to no one and no party. I am sure I can piss off more people in both parties now.

I like the evolution into a poster who wants to discuss issues rationally and without needless hyperbole, talking points, or "gotchas".

I was never a big "gotcha" type but I did get drawn into the we and they mentality. Just grew tedious especially when some of the "we" I aligned with started annoying me more than some of the "they" people.

Now everyone annoys me. Well in government that is.

geauxtohell this is what i was talking about

Has anyone on the board other than GTH even taken exception to the pic yet?

For the record, I only take offense to the picture because it's particularly bad satire (bad meaning not good), not because it offends me.

I think the right could do a lot better.

To further confuse the message, Malcontent slapped a 666 on his forehead. So no we have a statest whose an anarchist whose also the anti-christ.

Hell Chairman MaObama makes sense. This is just silly.

I followed your critique ... the joker's philosophy is the antithesis of what the right has been saying Obama is up until now.

I thought the MaObama thing was pretty funny.

Define "taken exception".

Um ... something resembling what the OP's link was about works for me.

Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson is calling the depiction, politically mean spirited and dangerous.

Hutchinson is challenging the group or individual that put up the poster to have the courage and decency to publicly identify themselves.

"Depicting the president as demonic and a socialist goes beyond political spoofery," says Hutchinson, "it is mean-spirited and dangerous."

"We have issued a public challenge to the person or group that put up the poster to come forth and publicly tell why they have used this offensive depiction to ridicule President Obama."

I'm looking for outrage, I guess.

Well, I've yet to see any here. But Hutchinson has the right to express his displeasure with the image. I'm not getting worked up about either.

In Ann Coulter's defense, Barbara Olsen was a friend of hers.

I set out running but I take my time
A friend of the Devil is a friend of mine
If I get home before daylight
I might get some sleep tonight

I ran into the Devil, babe
He loaned me twenty bills
I spent that night in Utah
In a cave up in the hills

I set out running but I take my time
A friend of the devil is a friend of mine
If I get home before daylight
I might get some sleep tonight
