Obama: Jesus would support tax-the-rich policy

Actually since we are market number one that is their problem.

There's a problem right there. more company's leave America more people out of work America no longer will be the number one market. Those company's that leave will sale their merchandise elsewhere in another country.

Hey they are welcome to try Greece.

OH yell Greece another fine example of socialism gone bad. Thanks for pointing that out.

Well you wanted other markets. Tell me where is a better market than the US?

I don't give a damn about company demands. They want to play in the best market then they should pay for the privilege and contribute to that market. F'n cheapskates.

If the left get's what they want there will not be a market here dumb ass. With a high capital gains tax more companies will leave America and more people will lose there jobs. America being the best market is irrelevant when no body is working because their are no jobs, there will not be a market here. And of course you'll blame Buooooosh

Well 1st of all I am not the left. I am an ***INDEPENDENT**. Next, I do not cow tow to imagined fears about some company leaving the US. It would be their loss. Where are they going to go? China, Russia? Greece, some other Euro country.? All their problem. In the meantime we will work it out. If you do not believe me just take a peak at all the acivity surrounding natural gas/fracking that is occcuring. We are telling the world "F YOU" in a big way. We will not be dependent on any one country let alone some 2 bit company. So go for it. See if China will treat you as well as we do.

You maybe independent but you're still fucking left. Thats what I'm talking about you're clueless. Your desire to raise taxes are an example showing that you are a lefty

Next, I do not cow tow to imagined fears about some company leaving the US.
Let's see the bottom line is what makes a company operate if paying higher tax here versus lower taxes somewhere else what do you think a company will do? You are clueless dude.

I can't take any more the pain of laughing hurts.

In the Gospel of Matthew, a rich young man asks Jesus what actions bring eternal life. First Jesus advises the man to obey the commandments. When the man responds that he already observes them, Jesus adds:

If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.

The Gospel of Luke has a similar episode and states that:

When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was a man of great wealth. Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

Rich men can still enter heaven. All one has to do is accept Christ. Rich or poor. Ill or healthy. A runner or a lame man. An old man or a child. A woman or a man. And nothing we do in this lifetime counts on getting a ticket to heaven.

You miss the point entirely Chris.

It's called 3:16.
No, sadly, you miss the point if you fail to see this as an indictment on the rich.

Have you ever seen a text or passage of Scripture that reads anything like "blessed are the rich?"

No...you don't. However, there are tons of text, in red ink, aka said by Jesus Himself "Blessed are the poor, for they shall inherit the earth."

You see, tiny, what many modern-day USA Christians seem to forget is, this world is only temporary, God doesn't want us to get too comfortable here, we should be preparing for our home in Heaven...that's where our riches lie.

Nobody understands this like the poor. The Bible bears this out time and time, and time again.

Cool, go laugh in China then if they''ll let you. and they can pay lower taxes somewhere else and make maybe nothing in a market that has no use for their bullshit. Have fun.

And lefty is just a convenient box that the irreponsible and self centered use when they cannot fathom that anyone may have the audacity to call them to responsibilty.

Jesus also supported people working for their food and not owing others anything,
He said take care of the old and sick not the lazy.

What a lot of people don't understand and you have to go to the OT on this is tithing originally was not for Churches. We were to help the poor, the widow and the sick child and more.

Hell's bells there weren't even churches. think about it.

And trust me the begats kill ya. You glaze over. Your fingers grow cold holding the Book.

And if you actually study the OT man oh man the Word rocks. And I wish more Christians would read it because I know I started study with the OT because my brain always needs the past to come to the future.

Therefore I needed to learn the OT to get to the NT.

A lot of the OT has you screaming and going "you get God and then you decide Baal is a good idea"?

And you go you've got to be kidding me.

No wonder you ran around in the desert going "hang a left at the pyramid" for 40 freaking years. :lol:But then you have Psalms. King David talking one on one though is awesome.

But one has to get thru it to understand the NT.

Tithing began in Eden my dear.

Genesis 4 KJV - And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she - Bible Gateway

Genesis 4:3,4 - What other purpose was that offering for if not tithe?

BTW, what's your understanding of the reason for/need to tithe?

Yea...

... dat's what the preacher was sayin' at church last Sunday...

... the Bible says pay unto Caesar the things dat are Caesar's...

... an' pay into the collection plate the things dat are God's.

And capitalism gone bad destroyed the world economy in 2008.

So what's your point?

Actually higher capital gains taxes will encourage investors not to pull there money out of American companies.

Now there is an incentive to take profits as income because of the low tax rate.

First off, the verse you are trying to quote is "Blessed are the poor in spirit," Even a progressive Christian should understand that is not talking about money, which means you are either deliberately misquoting Scripture, or you are an ignorant fool.

Do you really want verses that talk about the rich being blessed?

Ps 49:16
Pr 10:4,10,15,22

I seem to be having trouble finding the Scripture where Jesus condemned Joseph of Arimathaea, do you know where it is?

There is no special blessing in not having money, anymore than their is in having millions of dollars. The blessings of God are not temporal, nor are they temporary. Money, or the lack thereof, is a condition of this world, and has nothing whatever to do with your relationship with God.

Excuse me, genius, that was after they left Eden.

As for the reason for the tithe, there were actually trhee tithes, so it would depend on which one you are asking about. The one you cited is actually the first fruits, know more commonly as Pentecost. You should be able to figure out what that represents, and why it was important to give the very best.

You are so right, we should get the government out of the economy and abolish crony capitalism. Join me in demanding an end to all tax cuts, loopholes, credits, and anything on the tax code that is not aimed at raising money for the government to fund itself.

I don't think so.

Hey Chris here something for you

Here's something you might find of interest
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

— Matthew 20:1–16, King James Version

Jesus was a union buster.

I doubt that Obama would ever use this one.
