Number Of Americans On Food Stamps Plummets By Nearly 1.5 Million Since Trump Took Office

Nearly 1.5 Million Fewer Americans on Food Stamps Under Trump - Breitbart

Here is the breakdown of how many people dropped off the food stamp rolls each month of 2017:
  • January to February – 408,956
  • February to March – 95,152
  • March to April – 521,295
  • April to May- 176,527
  • May to June – 178,648
  • June to July – 236,417
Obama was president for 20 of those 31 days in January
Trump was president for 11 of those 31 days in January.

So for january, no matter how you spin it, thanks Obama.

You want to credit DumBama? Fine, show us his policy that's responsible for the reduction of food stamps.

An improving economy. Also, increases in min wage laws . Which cons hate .

Really? When did DumBama pass a minimum wage increase?

So you want to credit DumBama with an improving economy? What exactly did he do (with evidence) that he was the one to improve the economy instead of the private sector? Because DumBama was the most anti-business President of our lifetime.

Pray tell... to what do you attribute this drop in the welfare rolls?

1.5 million more people with jobs?

1.5 million more people stripped off the rolls whether they were able to work or not?

What brilliant Trumpian Economic Strategy was employed to give all 1.5 million of them jobs?

I mean... specifically... in the singular or in the plural.
Y'all are amazing. Everybody shouts, yells, and stamps their feet ... but nobody bothers to actually look into the situation. It's called 'research', people! Try it some time.

Newsweek says the drop is because of the increase in jobs, the growth in the economy, and states removing waivers to the three month limit. - all directly attributable to the Trump economic maneuvering.

The number of people on food stamps is falling. Here's why
What particular and brilliant Trumpian 'economic maneuvering' was that, which accounts for such a drop in benefit enrollment? Specifically.

Citing a news article that only deals in generalities (your Newsweek article) is not research.

All that I see in the Breitbart article is a lot of chatter about cutting funding for welfare benefits, coupled with state efforts to institute a work requirement in order to receive them.

Oh, and, by the way, obligatory paid-or-unpaid Community Service in order to receive benefits is not really a sustainable 'work' environment, is it?

Always amusing to see partisans try to tie daily economic numbers directly to politics.

And always, one way or the other, in their favor.
Unless it is an event like 9-11, the economy is based upon the climate created by the government. It is why the stock market soared after Trump won. The expectation he would do the right things to let the economy flourish created a brighter expectation of the future that a Hillary victory would not have.

Naw, the economy is influenced by an incredibly complex mix of factors, from foreign currencies to changes in productivity/technology, from oil prices to domestic/global Federal Reserve/Central Bank actions. Yes, policy changes are part of the mix, but they also have ripple effects that can be felt for years. So to give credit or blame to a President in any short term is nothing more than politics.

Economic health is based upon how people feel about the future. It's 90% perception. People see a rosy future ahead they go out and buy the bigger house and fill it with new furniture. They see bad times ahead people hoard. Stock markets went on a big rally the day after the election because everyone sat on the sidelines waiting to see who would win. They liked the outcome so dumped their money into the markets with the expectation of a bright future. Same thing happened when Reagan beat Carter and opposite happened when Obama beat Dole.

And you have evidence of a surge in small business hiring because of that?
Reading of US small-business hiring in July nears 18-year high
  • Job creation among small businesses picked up in July, a National Federation of Independent Business report showed on Thursday.
  • Strong economic growth in the U.S. and abroad gave confidence to small business owners in the month.
  • The percentage of U.S. small business owners saying they planned to add to payrolls in July exceeded those with plans to cut jobs by 19 percentage points on a seasonally adjusted basis, the NFIB data showed.
Job creation among small businesses picked up in July as strong economic growth in the United States and abroad gave confidence to small business owners, a National Federation of Independent Business report showed on Thursday.

The percentage of U.S. small business owners saying they planned to add to payrolls in July exceeded those with plans to cut jobs by 19 percentage points on a seasonally adjusted basis, the NFIB data showed. That is a 4-point increase from June and the strongest reading since December 1999.

"Small business owners are investing their money in new jobs and we know small business is where the jobs are," said Juanita Duggan, president and chief executive officer of NFIB in a release.

Moreover, 60 percent of owners said they were hiring or trying to hire, a 6-point increase from June.

Thanks obama and his booming economy .
Don’t forget to thank Trump for stripping it from the poor. Dispraportionally affecting the idiots in the red states that voted for him.
You mean they may have to actually...

Get a job?

The horror.

I'm appalled.

Disgusted.
Get a job? Has your coal job come back yet, Trump sheep?
Lowest jobless claims since 1973.
Still not tired of winning.

I don't see Trump mentioned there.

Trump's not winning. His approval is at 38%. In this economic environment any president that was getting credit for it would have an approval around 50% or better.

The joke's on you.

Back to this thread again? Really pisses you off that so many can now provide for themselves.
