Not One Republican Has The Guts To Take Maher's Bet

He clearly has issues with blacks who think for themselves instead of staying on the Democrat Plantation. TruthAvoider is a sick racist freak. Maybe he's a SlaveSeeker instead? Maybe his job is to round up those who escape their Plantation and drag them back?

Truthavoider,Slaveseeker? I hope Cain wins but I smart enough to knoe cain is notheing more than a token black on the Koch brothers plantation and now that he is known to sexually harassed two or more white women(yes white women) the illutions is over....I told you so...

There is nothing more amusing than a racist liberal.

Are you kiidding? A black republican plays the race card and the racists GOPers use the racist tag to call out anyone who questions Cain's motives. That is some funny shit.

What race card?

How funny would it be if the cafeteria spikes Maher's lunch with LSD?

Funny, right?

It is an odd piece of the history of ideas but it took the assassination of JFK to pass Civil Rights in this nation, Truman, Eisenhower and Kennedy all lost that battle to move forward just a bit. Humans change slowly. Mather is right and he is especially right since LBJ's accomplishments. It is a shame Cain's past - which sounds not too wonderful - is coming back to topple the most interesting aspect of the republican's usual election BS about taxes and government. It added an element of strangeness to a party of rigid ideologues.

"You start out in 1954 by saying, “******, ******, ******.” By 1968 you can’t say “******” — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states’ rights and all that stuff. You’re getting so abstract now you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a by-product of them is blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I’m not saying that. But I’m saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “******, ******.” Lee Atwater, Republican strategist, 1981, describing the Southern Strategy

During the monologue of Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, host Maher referred to GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain as a "token black guy" as he asserted that establishment Republicans are "freaking out" because they never expected him to be competitive.

Alluding to the tendency of guest characters in Star Trek television episodes to be killed off, he cracked:

The Republican establishment is freaking out because their token black guy is in the league now. They never expec-, it's like an episode of Star Trek where the black guy beams down to the planet and lives.

Maher later went on to bet CNBC's Michelle Caruso-Cabrera a million dollars that Republicans will not nominate Cain, as he made his latest accusation that Republicans are racists:

A million to one, I will give you a million dollars. If you think that the Republicans are going to have an election with two black guys against each other, that they don't have a choice to vote for a white man in the general election, that will never happen.

Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Friday, October 14, Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO:

BILL MAHER: Big news, of course, in the Republican ranks. There is a new - I say this every week - but there is a new frontrunner: Herman Cain, Herman Cain. The Republican establishment is freaking out because their token black guy is in the league now. They never expec-, it's like an episode of Star Trek where the black guy beams down to the planet and lives.

...

MAHER: Let me just ask, before we move on, about Herman Cain because I don't hear any person who thinks that's going to last, even though he is the leader, except Herman Cain. I love Herman Cain keeps saying, "People who get on the Cain train don't leave." It sounds a little like, "Once you go black, you don't go back." (AUDIENCE LAUGHTER)

It does. I mean, it does. that's what, I think he should get a different slogan. But I don't know one person - do you? Is there anyone here? - who thinks Herman Cain in a month will not be down in the middle with Newt Gingrich and the rest of the also-rans?

It looks like Maher had a pretty safe bet considering your own so called ‘middle of the road’ Repub hierarchy tossed Cain under the bus.

Fucking liar.

LBJ and Senate Democrats held up Ike's Civil rights bill for 7 years.

Stop fucking lying!

First, name a single Republican who has heard of Maher's "bet"? Heck, most democrats probably dont know about it because people dont give a damn what Maher says.

Second, I dont have money to bet or I would.

Since when does any candidate care what Maher has to say?

All that miserable fuck is, is a socialist. He hates all freedom loving people, and therefore hates all the GOP candidates.

Cain is off of Maher's plantation.

And, off of 'truth'seeker's.

all the flip flopping he does it's hard to tell who's plantation he is on. I would guess the Koch brothers.
He's not being your Black man, so it's yoru planatation he is off of.

Deal with it, racist. He is much more than his skin color, but not to racists like you; he is just not behaving.

It seems to me that the left believe black conservatives suffer from drapetomania.

Maher is was and always will be a moron. And only morons take anything he says seriously. Nobody in their right mind is going to bet a million dollars on an election. His bet proves nothing at all. It has nothing at all to do with racism. The GOP doesn't want Herman Cain simply because he's not "establishmnet GOP". Nothing more.

I disagree.

I think most Republicans not only would be happy to nominate a black guy who shares their conviction and vote for him over a white liberal, and most would secretly feel good about themselves for doing so because it would demonstrate that they aren't racists.

As for the Republican establishment fretting over Cain, its not because he is black but because he is a rank amateur and shows it, i.e.

Not to mention, allegations of sexual harassment. As Lee Atwater used to say "If you're explaining, you're losing."

Cain has no desire to be president.

He wants to sell books and increase speaking fees just like Palin.

No one runs seriously with sex payoff legal suits in their past.

He thought no one would pay enough attention to him to even find the cases.
