N. Korea threatens 'physical response' to U.S. drills - USATODAY.com

North Korea inflamed tensions over the deadly sinking of a South Korean warship by threatening the United States and South Korea on Friday with a "physical response" if they carry out naval maneuvers this weekend. The U.S. refused to back down.
The latest threat came four months after the sinking of a South Korean warship that killed 46 sailors. The North has been blamed, but vehemently denies any involvement.

In Vietnam for a Southeast Asian regional security forum, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and a North Korean official traded barbs over the sinking, the four-day military drills beginning Sunday and the imposition of new U.S. sanctions against the North.

Hey Kim Jung Il....don't mess with Hillary

Hey Kim Jung Il....don't mess with Hillary

We have nothing to fight N. Korea with. All of our forces are tied up in Bush's invasions in Iraq and Afghanistan. NK knows this.

Gee, I guess Obama's North Korea policy is really working out:
Barack Obama
Democratic Party Nominee - President

President Obama advocates for developing an “international coalition” to handle nuclear North Korea, calls the Six-Party Talks “ad hoc,” and says he supports “sustained, direct, and aggressive diplomacy.” In a September 2008 presidential debate, Obama said a lack of diplomatic engagement with North Korea led the country to significantly increase its nuclear capacity, and said the Bush administration's eventual reengagement with the regime led to "some progress."

Within weeks of Pyongyang’s October 2006 nuclear test, Obama appeared on Meet the Press and said the United States had no leverage over North Korea because of Washington’s refusal to hold bilateral negotiations. He also clarified a passage from his book Audacity of Hope (in which he posed the question “Why invade Iraq and not North Korea or Burma?”) and said he did not consider invading the communist country an option to resolving the nuclear issue.

In May 2005, Obama named North Korea as one of the "biggest proliferation challenges we currently face." Obama has called for the strengthening of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty so that countries like North Korea "that break the rules will automatically face strong international sanctions."

Obama said in September 2008 he believes the United States needs a missile defense system in part because of the nuclear threat North Korea poses.

Maybe if he called them "An Axis of Evil" they would back down

Or if he stated that he looked into Kim Jong Il's eyes and saw evil?

"The US has just added more sanctions (that is, protectionist attempts to sicken and starve) to its acts of war against the North, which is protesting against Hillary and co. Of course, socialist North Korea has an even more evil state than most, leading to widespread famine. So what does the US do? Attempt to intensify the famine and sickness, to punish the government, which, like all governments, is fat and happy, for making itself unattackable though the possession of nuclear weapons"

They probally would, we show our weakness in every war we get involved in.

Yea they do say that a lot huh? They are likely to provoke some sort of incident at some point. They feel pretty confident that China has their back. They're gonna be pretty shocked when they find out that China doesn't really have their back. China does a whole lot of business with us. They don't want a conflict with us. I do expect the North to provoke an incident but i don't know how this Administration will respond. Their foreign policy seems pretty muddled at this point. I guess we'll see though. An incident is coming.

The US is not preventing North Korea from growing their own damn food. Whoever authored this BLOG is very uninformed.

We have around 30,000 troops there already. That is what N.K. is talking about, they will threaten the S.K. Troops and our U.S. troops that are there right now. All of our forces are not in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have a whole bunch of troops all around the world.

OK...let's split hairs. How many COMBAT ready troops do we have in South Korea? And WTF are they doing there in the first place?

What are you talking about, China owns us with a debt to the sum of around a trillion dollars.

South Korea and the US have more than enough forces on the ground to obliterate North Korea

Thats what makes N Korean threats so laughable

And they would probably like to be repaid.

2/3 of China is still third world peasants. The US has three times the GDP and 10 times the accumulated wealth of China

How do you figure they "own" us?

A lot of business. China isn't going to threaten their own economic prosperity by engaging in a conflict with us. North Korea will likely provoke an incident but they will quickly find out that China will not be supportive. They'll have to go it alone and that means it wont end well for them. That's just my take anyway.

Neither China nor Russia would support N Korea. They both have tasted capitalism and are not going to kill that Golden Goose.

North Korea cannot afford food, electricity, clean water or medical care for its people. They could not afford a war on their own
