Naturally, the networks hopped in bed with the NY Times and jumped all over Cliven Bundy’s poorly stated thoughts:

“And in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids – and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch – they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do,” he said.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do? They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Cliven Bundy’s case is a prime example of “Gotcha.” The media, including FOX, automatically puts everybody who opposes big government Socialism in the “No Mistakes” category. One poorly stated comment is the kiss of death for conservatives in public and private life, while liberals, especially government officials, get a pass for everything they say as well having their treason, their anti-America activities, their racism, even their murders, swept under the rug or ignored entirely.

FOX

Surprise! Surprise! Charles Krauthammer pretty much spoke for every FOX talking head by making it about Bundy rather than the BLM’s land grab. God only knows why FOX’s army of liberals did not lead the charge:

Frankly, I do not understand how Krauthammer can be right about so much and so wrong about this:

You have to have some respect for the federal government, some respect for our system, and to say you don't and you don't recognize it and that makes you a conservative hero, to me, is completely contradictory and rather appalling.

Nobody should respect a government that betrays the country at every opportunity, protects a nest of traitors in the US Senate, installed a presidency with more power than kings, and works day and night to take away every individual liberty guarantied in the US Constitution.

And Cliven Bundy does respect our system. He always said he would pay grazing fees to the state, yet liberals try to paint him as parasite grazing on public lands for free. I suspect that Krauthammer knows that turning on Bundy opposes states’ rights while supporting the federal government’s land grab.

As far as I know, former presidential candidate Alan Keyes did not get to state his views on the panel of a major talk show, but he got it right:

“I find it appalling that we basically have a history of the leftist liberalism that wants to extinguish black people by abortion [and] destroying the family structure,” Keyes told WND. “All of these things if you just look at the effects, you would say this was planned by some racist madman to destroy the black community.”

Then when somebody comes along to comment on that damage, the leftists all scream “racism,” he said.“I think it’s time somebody started to recognize the racism that exists in its effects – the hard leftist ideology using the black community for their sacrificial lamb, for their sick ideology. It’s time we called them what they are,” he said.

“Now it’s racist to point it out.”

Black leader says Bundy remarks not racist

Whenever I read stats that show over 90 percent of black Americans consistently vote for the Democrat, I assume they have good reason. Then I look at what the welfare state does to black Americans and I am reminded of this:

Democracy is a pathetic belief in the collective wisdom of individual ignorance. H. L. Mencken

Instead of talking about racism maybe it’s time to start talking about the form of government Socialists are imposing on the country.

Parenthetically, Socialists/Communists must believe that black Americans need nothing more than the welfare state because that is what Democrats give them:

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. Karl Marx

Finally, as I’ve stated in previous threads, the BLM’s land grab originated with the EPA; save this or that endangered species. Take this one to the bank. You will never see a species of maggot on the endangered species list. Every maggot in the country thrives in the federal government.

Hear for yourself what Cliven Bundy said, what the Times and MMFA wanted everyone to hear, minus the questions that may have set Mr. Bundy up.

The Bureau of Land Management is the villain in the piece not Cliven Bundy:

Even observers who believed that Cliven Bundy did not have a legal leg to stand on regarding his claims that he did not owe grazing fees for his cattle to the BLM were curious as to the reason behind the heavy-handed response to Bundy’s recalcitrance. The move ostensibly was to remove Bundy’s cattle from public lands, where they were illegally grazing. Even though every federal agency these days, from the Environmental Protection Agency to the Department of Education, feels the need to have its own SWAT team, 200 federal agents with assault rifles and dogs seems an inappropriate way to conduct a roundup.

Put the federal government’s conduct in perspective by going back to the early days of labor unions. Every corporation that hired “company cops” to protect its private property was viciously attacked by Socialists of that era as brutal oppressors. It mattered not that labor union agitators were sabotaging production. The company was always at fault even though an entire assembly line in automobile plants could be brought to a standstill by one act of sabotage.

Now, federal bureaucracies are beginning to do the same things robber barons supposedly did to defend their private property Rights. They are actually doing more because company cops did not have armored vehicles, modern weaponry, and television.

Question: Are the maggots running federal bureaucracies robber barons? Answer: Not according to today’s media stooges. Apparently, it is only brutal oppression when private sector individuals protect their property Rights.

NOTE: The political and intellectual descendants of the very people who supported labor union thuggery over private property Rights now support government thuggery defending the non-existent property Rights of federal bureaucracies.

Most Americans probably believe that the BLM is working for the American people. Nothing could be further from the truth. The BLM works for the people in government. That’s why every American property owner should be concerned about every land grab. Federal and state eminent domain abuses shows that every level of government is often worse than federal bureaucracies.

The informative article by Victor Keith does not address the most important question of all. How many maggots in the federal government became millionaires “managing public lands”?

Rather than focusing on the inane racial comments or questionable legal arguments of an elderly and unsophisticated rancher, the media would be doing the public a better service by asking why the federal government is in the natural resource business instead of public land maintenance, as the name of the Bureau of Land Management implies.

It wasn't a "gotcha".

To Sallow: It most certainly was for this reason if for no other:

Cliven Bundy’s case is a prime example of “Gotcha.” The media, including FOX, automatically puts everybody who opposes big government Socialism in the “No Mistakes” category. One poorly stated comment is the kiss of death for conservatives in public and private life, while liberals, especially government officials, get a pass for everything they say as well having their treason, their anti-America activities, their racism, even their murders, swept under the rug or ignored entirely.

To Sallow: Of what? I’ve stated my views. Try stating yours in more than a sound bite.

And the entirety of the video doesn't affect the context, one whit.

To Sallow: The motive does.

During the Punic Wars Cato and other notable Romans argued that Carthago Delenda Est, that is, Carthage must be destroyed. Substitute sympathetic ordinary Americans, like Cliven Bundy, Joe the Plumber, and the superbly talented Sarah Palin for Carthage, and you have the rallying cry of the Democrats and their media enablers who will use any pretext to demonize those who dare to challenge their power.

Clarice Feldman’s definitive piece on Cliven Bundy’s so-called racist comment about slavery nails it:

Here is the black intellectual Thomas Sowell on the effect of the welfare state on black families:

The black family survived centuries of slavery and generations of Jim Crow, but it has disintegrated in the wake of the liberals’ expansion of the welfare state. Most black children grew up in homes with two parents during all that time but most grow up with only one parent today.

XXXXX

E.W. Jackson, speaking last year as candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia: “I am a direct descendent of slaves. My grandfather was born there to a father and a mother who had been slaves. And by the way, their family was more intact than the black family is today,” Jackson said.

“I’m telling you that slavery did not destroy the black family, even though it certainly was an attack on the black family. It made it difficult,” he said.

To editec: Define deadbeat in relation to Cliven Bundy.

And Cliven Bundy does respect our system. He always said he would pay grazing fees to the state, yet liberals try to paint him as parasite grazing on public lands for free.

And what would you call a government parasite who profits without contributing anything to society:

● Big profits are being threatened by animals grazing on prime real estate, but the real story has been lost in a haze of inciteful rhetoric

● A rancher’s refusal to sell his land and stop his cattle from grazing nearby may have created a crisis in the real estate industry

BLM Siege At Bunkerville - The Real Story

The whole land grab thing reminds me of the plot in that movie Solyent Green. If you think I’m exaggerating remember there are people who truly believe the mass murders done by governments throughout the last century never happened. Harry Reid and his kind are just the guys that will do it again:

Selwyn Duke over at the American Thinker made my day.

First:

Selwyn Duke: This isn’t to say that being a bigot -- the word “racist” is in quotation marks because it’s an invention of leftist language manipulators -- is a good thing. Not at all.

Allow me to add my agreement by quoting myself in this thread:

Flanders: Racism is an invented sin; a twentieth century crime invented by sharpshooters, race hustlers, do gooders and religious fanatics.

XXXXX

Knowing that sins become laws, dirty little moralists seized the opportunity to increase the scope of their expertise by first inventing racism, then transforming it into a hate crime.

XXXXX

Laws against racism is another attempt to legislate love. Love born of legislation is as unsustainable as is compassion legislated by coerced charity.

Next:

Selwyn Duke: For the record, I don’t believe Cliven Bundy is a “racist.”

Nor do I. Media mouths jumped all over Bundy’s comment about slavery to label him a racist. The charge has no basis in fact.

Flanders: There is no evidence of racism existing throughout history. Slavery is not racism. Slavery has always been about forced labor. At one time or another members of every race were slaves as well as slave owners. Communist governments still enslave irrespective of race.

Today’s definition of racism has its roots in pre-Civil War slavery, while racism as a sin/crime was invented decades after the War Between the States ended.

Next:

Selwyn Duke: . . . when whites are bigoted, it’s “racist”; when blacks are, it’s something else.

Flanders: Interestingly, every individual can be the victim of a real crime, but only blacks can be the victims of racism. Every individual can engage in crime, but only blacks are incapable of committing the crime of racism —— according to liberals.

Media mouths harvested a bumper crop of racism when Donald Sterling voiced his choice of associates in his personal life. The people in his private life had the option of not associating with Sterling if they did not like his choice. Sterling did not commit a crime, nor did he harm any black people physically or financially. The objective in calling his remarks racist originated with filthy media moralists. The plan was to tell Sterling, and everyone else, how they must behave. In the Bundy and Sterling cases the whole thing is nothing more than a priesthood dictating politically correct behavior. As I said in the thread I linked:

Flanders: Unlike laws against committing real crimes, racism’s laws demand specific behavior from everyone.

Finally, saving some damn turtle was the pretense cited for the land grab. Let me close with this:

Flanders: Designer-sin was followed by designer-science. Sharpshooters running the environmental movement invented designer-science as a scare tactic. Four years ago designer-science morphed into designer-sin.

Here’s the link to Duke’s great piece:

The media dropped the Bundy Ranch Standoff liked a used condom when they realized the charge of racism was not resonating with anybody except race hustlers. Donald Sterling’s racism got more traction in the MSM, and his “racism” does not invoke a look at tyranny as did the events in Nevada.

Sad to say the Internet isn’t giving the Bundy story much coverage anymore. I did see this one dated today:

Federal Government Holding Back Oil Production on Federal Land

Instead of drilling for oil we should be finding alternative power sources. Your Hemi is not going to make you a bigger man.

To Asclepias: There must an epidemic of tapeworms among libs. You’re the umpteenth one so afflicted that I’ve come across on message boards:

Only kings, presidents, editors, and people with tapeworms have the right to use the editorial "we." Mark Twain

Do you mean alternative power sources in addition to nuclear, wind, solar, space-based solar power, ocean thermal energy conversion, piezoelectricity, helioculture, saltwater power, osmotic power, human sewage, geothermal energy, evaporative energy, vortex-induced vibrations, mining the moon, coal gasification, cow farts, and the ones I probably never heard of?

The real question is: How many alternative sources will it take to satisfy the parasite class’ hunger for tax dollars?

Instead of giving billions to sharpshooters, put tax dollars into scrubber technology if it is about clean air. After all, the EPA was created to enforce the Clean Air Act. Remember the acid rain scare tactics? Bottom line: Environmental parasites and hustlers saw clean air as a losing issue because the problem is easily solved; so they hit upon global warming/manmade climate change, and the latest “climate disruption.”

NOTE: China and India are the world’s biggest polluters. So why are American jobs going to China and India? Surely, even you can see the connection to air pollution even if global warming/manmade climate change/climate disruption is a hoax.

Mark twain was wrong and you can tell him to go convince some simpleton like you to sit back and not take responsibility.

To Flanders. There seems to be an epidemic of retards like you that 1. think oil is going to last forever and 2 that using oil is not polluting the environment. Instead of feeding big oil we need to be developing sustainable energy sources that do not harm the environment. Get your head out of your ass and wake up.

Note. I could care less about China and jobs going there. Stop whining and do something, anything about it other than whining. Get a skill where your job cant be shipped overseas or become a producer.

To Asclepias: As a matter of fact the world will probably never run out of petroleum; at least not in the foreseeable future. One minor problem is developing the technology to bring up the oil remaining in “played out wells.” That total is equivalent to all of the oil that was originally recovered. And that’s not counting undiscovered petroleum fields.

This chart does not include offshore petroleum reserves or undiscovered fields:

This article is about OPEC only:

iea_weo_1998_fig7_4_opec_reserves.jpg

In short, global oil reserve estimates are fictional. We have no idea how much we have, because it doesn’t pay to tell the truth when it comes to oil. It doesn’t serve OPEC, and it doesn’t serve politics either, which is why no government questions the figures.
