GET OUT of California while you can, they are about to pass a wealth tax you have to pay for 10 years even if you move to another state. For example, if you own stocks that have gone up in value California will force you to pay California capital gains tax on them even if you move to another state. California will not allow you to leave without paying them an exit tax.

This is not a problem for California. There is a very easy solution to this. Just tax everyone more and when more leave tax those remaining more and when more leave continue taxing those left more and more.
