CNN —
Donald Trump inflated his net worth by as much as $2.2 billion in one year, lawyers for the New York attorney general’s office alleged as part of their civil fraud lawsuit against the former president, his adult sons and the Trump Organization.

Over a 10-year period, the attorney general’s office said that when it corrects the Trump financial statements for alleged misvaluations it “reduces Mr. Trump’s net worth by between 17-39% in each year, or between $812 million to $2.2 billion, depending on the year.” The $2.2 billion disparity came in 2014, the state said.

That's not exactly a rounding error, but it is certainly a good reason why Mazars would want to distance itself from its work on behalf of Trump.

Hardly a feather in an auditor's cap.

Is there anything about the man that isn't a total fraud?

He's going to have to inflate it a lot more after all the lawsuits and dying slowly in prison

Leticia James is going over these contracts and "correcting" them. This is why they wanted the tax returns. So they can be "corrected ".
No...

Mazars disavowed their work over a decade.

The DA had to reconstruct these statements based on various other filings.

No one really knows with certainty how much the Trumpster is worth. It isn't like he just has a savings and checking account at the local building in loan.

He owns different properties and licenses, interests in partnerships, etc., all of which fluctuate in price daily if not more frequently.

Bull.

Real estate values are determined periodically, through appraisals....which aren't free.

It is true unless someone complains. It's not up to the state to correct financial records then look for an aggrieved party.
That's not how it happened.

When Mazars left there was no one willing to vouch for any financial records....to calculate the damages, the city must now find figures on which the can rely.
