So I bought a first generation 3D tv and within less than a year it has what I call watermarks showing when a white backgroung is on screen.

Today I was in Best Buy killing time between appointments looking at new ones. Plasma is out of the question as I have too much natural light that reflects off the screen.

I saw a 55" led 1080p 120 mghz with 3 hdmi 1 usb and 1 pc input for 700 bucks. Then I saw the 65" to 100" tv's with 240mghz.

I didn't see any stats on refresh rate and I thought that was more important? Also what's the difference between lcd & led?

LED's have much better backlighting. But you can also get a comparable LCD for way cheaper.

Both TV's you mentioned are awesome. Buy one and live the dream!!!

After all some of us have 42" Vizeo's :(:(:(

I know you post a lot about video games so I'll try to relate it to what I know.

120+ mhz is the same as 65+ fps

It's better... but at that point who cares?

I say go for the bigger screen!

EDIT - megahertz are also fluffed up by companies. A t.v. that claims 240 has probably clocked that one time. Just enough to put it on the box.

I think the main problem is that you bought a TV.

Interesting. I just downloaded a program on my pc to clock my fps and it ran between 45 and 120 depending on the action and detail on screen. I never really noticed much of a difference. Although anything below 30 fucks with my eyes.

What does the megahertz (sp?) stand for? 120 to 240 is a big jump

It is the cycle time for a CPU clock. Higher numbers can render graphics images faster for display. The computer you are using right now probably has a Giga hertz rating for it's processors. Not to be confused with the cycle time for the TV screen redraw. Typically 60, 120, or 240 cycles per second (hertz). The faster the cycle time, the smoother action scenes. You probably can't tell the difference between 120hz and 240hz unless you are a high end 3D computer gamer or watching really fast sports.
