New Daily Show Host Joked U.S. Worse Than Apartheid South Africa

On Monday, Comedy Central announced that South African comedian Trevor Noah would be replacing Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show. To get a feel for Noah's brand of humor, one could simply watch his debut on the fake news show in December of 2014, when he jokingly declared that present-day America had worse race relations than Apartheid South Africa. After introducing Noah as the show's newest contributor at the time, Stewart noted: "And I know that you flew in, I guess, yesterday from South Africa." Noah replied: "Yeah, I just flew in and boy are my arms tired....No, no, seriously, I've been holding my arms like this since I got here." He made the completely discredited "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" gesture with his hands and added: "I never thought I'd be more afraid of police in America than in South Africa. It kind of makes me a little nostalgic for the old days back home." - See more at: New Daily Show Host Joked U.S. Worse Than Apartheid South Africa

US incarcerates more of its citizens than South Africa did. How is the comparison unfair or untrue?

Because he feelings are hurt. America #1!!!*

*Even if were not

In my opinion I think it sad that a person lives in a country they think so little of, truly sad.

More than O'Reilly goes after the right...

Don't know the factual ratios.

Do know they both didn't go against people on their political "sides" that often.
And O'Reilly is not funny, entertaining and has a bad make-up artist...

He's not really that funny compared to Stewart, but I think that's the point, and it's not really a bad thing, either. I like watching both O'Reilly and Stewart; in tandem I feel they complement each other. It'd be neat if both made a show together. I'd be watching it every night. :D

Of course he has a point that is why their show is a news program for the young. That said, his point is BS.

Why do you think that is? Because we have more people that don't obey the laws? Or that we have more laws? And what does that have to do with what the "comedian" said?

Most of the people in prison/jail in America are there because of drug laws.

Change the drug laws and fewer people will be in prison.

Studies show that a small amount of caucasian people go to prison for drugs compared to the large amount of African Americans who go to prison for drugs.

When you know it is against the law, and you do it anyway, don't be surprised when you have to pay the penalty.
IF people don't wanna go to jail, don't commit the crime ... PEROID!!!
???WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT THAT???

In some states I would be a criminal.

I am fighting for my life from a very deadly form of breast cancer. The drug I have to take every day for the rest of my life has side effects much like chemo. In that just about everything I put in my mouth doesn't stay in my stomach. I've tried all the pills and they don't work. The only thing that keeps some food in me is marijuana. If I don't take that drug the cancer will return and kill me.

In my state I'm not a criminal for doing all I can to stay alive. In other states I would be put in prison.

So, your don't do the crime if you can't do the time is basically telling me to not fight for my life and die from cancer.

The only reason why so many millions of people are in prison is stupid and very draconian drug laws that have done nothing to stop the use of drugs and caused state budgets to explode because of prison costs.

You may want to put me in prison for trying not to die but thankfully people like you are the minority and soon the whole thing won't be an issue anymore. People will not be put in prison just for using marijuana.

Quality of the show in any respect, scripts, jokes, production - all without meaning. Audience figures will remain as they were because liberals are told they can choose:

1. Watch and applaud.

2. Don't watch and lie when asked if you do.

Not upset about their choice of replacements jokes as much as I am that of all the 'news segment' people they've had they couldn't find someone from within to take the reins? They instead went with someone I've never heard of?
