It is evidence that we'll need more ink to print $2.2 Trillion/5 years.

This will not get blamed on Obama. It can't be blamed on any President. States are to blame in part for not budgeting for infrastructure. The Federal Government has pretty much covered the interstate system quite well with funding...but in many instances States took the money and spent it on other stuff. Look at that fiasco in Boston...the big dig.

We have been underfunding infrastructure for a very long time.

The question is this: How to fix it?

I say the Fed should only manage the Interstate, nuclear plants, and other major projects effectively run by the Fed. non-interstate highways and anything in the city should be left to the cities and States to figure out. No federal dollars should be allowed to be sent to anything not run by the Fed (hey, maybe that's help with the pork!)

Cut the taxes, and let the states spend their money as they see fit
