Navy now has stealth destroyer

Stealth does have advantage, cruise missiles are over-the-horizon weapons that rely on their own (relatively small) radar in terminal phase to lock onto a target. Having a tiny radar signature not only makes it harder to see, it makes it easier for countermeasures to create a more attractive alternative for the cruise missile.

Interesting both Zumwalt and LCS have shown the USN has given up on using phalanx as CIWS on new builds, they seem confident in a combination of defensive missiles and the new 57mm guns that can fire programmable timed air bursts into the path of incoming cruise missiles.

From Regime Obama, coming soon, a completely invisible destroyer!
"in late December 2005, the House and Senate agreed to continue funding the program"

Partisan dumbass.
