NATO designates Chcago shoot to kill zone

nothing to do with NATO orders...
Pursuant to 49 USC 40103(b), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) classifies the airspace defined in this advisory and the published NOTAM as 'National Defense Airspace'. Pilots who do not adhere to the following procedures may be intercepted, detained and interviewed by law enforcement/security personnel. Any of the following additional actions may also be taken against a pilot who does not comply with the requirements or any special instructions or procedures announced in this NOTAM:
A) The FAA may take administrative action, including imposing civil penalties and the suspension or revocation of airmen certificates; or
B) The United States Government may pursue criminal charges, including charges under Title 49 of the United States Code, Section 46307; or
C) The United States Government may use deadly force against the airborne aircraft, if it is determined that the aircraft poses an imminent security threat.

It's the national defense part that's cloudy. It's a NATO Summit, not a national defense summit.

there is nothing cloudy about it.

NATO is holding a summit there... the US declared it a national defense zone because of the summit...

big hairy deal.

NATO did not designate anything. The OP tile is a lie.

This regime intends to shoot down American aircraft over an American city.

That democrats are okay with this is disturbing. Especially because it requires a belief that any aircraft that is shot down under these directives will vaporize and become what? Air pollution? No WONDER Chicago is considering a city evacuation.

are you aware there are other no-fly zones in the US? Have been for many years.

There are many no-fly zones. There's one over the white house. How many American planes have been shot down over a metropolitan area (or at all)?

10 nautical miles of downtown Chicago. What a laugh. How many small airports are located within 10 miles of ... what are the parameters of downtown Chicago.

There have been temporary no fly zones in Chicago before so this is no big deal. Even planes violate the white house no fly zone occasionally, do they shoot them down? If some nut does venture into the zone they will be intercepted and if they ignore the fighters or whatever intercepted them they deserve to be shot down but the people enforcing the no fly zone will take every precaution to see that does not happen if they can help it.

Did I miss one shot down over the upcoming NATO conference? Oh wait, it hasn't happened yet, has it.

If a plane violates the no fly zone, and cannot be contacted, oh well... it gets shot down.

Chicago: No. 2 in the Nation for Murder -- and Rising With a Bullet
May 30, 2012 - President Obama’s hometown of Chicago is Number 2 on the Top 10 list of Big Cities when it comes to murder – and is on a path to overtake New York as the murder capital of the United States.
According to statistics released by the Chicago Police Department, there have already been 192 murders in Chicago through May 20 of this year – a figure that is 52 percent higher than the 126 reported during the same period last year. It also puts Chicago well above the 184 murders reported for all of last year.

But based on the FBI’s Uniform Crime Statistics for 2011, Chicago is currently number two in the nation among big cities with a population of 250,000 or more when it comes to the number of murders. New York City – which has more than three times the population of Chicago -- topped the list with 227 murders; followed by Chicago at No. 2 with 184; Detroit in third place with 173; Philadelphia in fourth with 158, and New Orleans at No. 5 with 105 murders.

Baltimore was sixth (101); Houston was number seven (96); Dallas was eighth (76); Washington, D.C. was ninth (60) and Miami was No. 10, reporting 37 murders in 2011. However, on a per capita basis -- in terms of the number of murders compared with the size of the population -- Chicago fell to No. 7 on the list. New Orleans -- "The Big Easy" -- had the most murders per person.

10 dead, 43 wounded in Chicago's bloody holiday weekend
May 29, 2012, Three days. Ten bodies. Forty-three others injured in shootings. This was Memorial Day weekend in Chicago, a city bloodied by a 50% increase in homicides in 2012.
Police and city officials have scurried to explain what they’re doing to fix the problem in a city with a murder rate higher than New York City’s but with half the population. "It's not OK that we had 53 shootings last week, but that 53 shootings is the same exact number of shootings that we had last year. So this is not a new problem," said Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy at a Tuesday news conference convened to address the weekend’s crime, according to the Chicago Tribune. As of Sunday, there have been at least 200 homicides from January through May, compared with 134 during the same time in 2011, according to unofficial police data cited by the Tribune.

For a relatively new mayor such as Rahm Emanuel who campaigned hard on lowering crime rates, those numbers are tough to explain away. The mayor blamed gangs. “On a percentage basis — and this is just data — about 70% to 80% of the increase in both shootings and homicides are gang-on-gang violence," the mayor said, according to the Tribune. "We have to interject ourselves to stop the shootings, which is the only way you can stop the homicide rate."

He called for more involvement from community groups, though it’s unclear whether it would involve neighborhood groups such as CeaseFire — featured in the documentary “The Interrupters” — that work without police help to prevent retaliatory violence. “Chicago is a different beast when it comes down to the issue of violence,” Tio Hardiman, director of CeaseFire Illinois, a violence prevention group, told Frontline in April. “You have outbreaks of violence the same way you have outbreaks of diseases in countries throughout the world. Some people are going to sleep in Chicago thinking about who they’re going to shoot the next day.”

At Tuesday's news conference, Emanuel also called some liquor stores a “cancer on the community,” according to ABC News. “They are a magnet for gun violence, narcotic dealing and other criminal activity,” he said. Chicago is facing a rare blitz of homicides in an era when major crime has long been in decline across the nation, dropping to half the levels of the 1980s — even continuing to drop through the recession, going against common thinking that a tougher economy means higher crime. Politicians’ careers often live and die against the crime rate in their districts. City officials’ promises to take action prompted skepticism from city Alderman Carrie Austin, who told ABC affiliate WLS, “We’ve all heard this before. We’ve heard it in different ways. Let’s see what this spin will do.”

While I have no doubt that the administration is pretty low and underhanded, i just dont see them doing that.
