Narcan approved for over the counter sale. What happened to don't do drugs?

Yours either, unless it's what the affect on the brain is, but your brain is so drug addled you can't respond!
:itsok:

No one takes my advice either, I'm just married to someone who's is and who just accepted the director of nursing position for a health department here in Florida. Also I have an uncle who helps set policy for his State as a leading neo natal specialist who deals mainly with newborns with severe health risks nearly a quarter of which are due to their drug addicted mothers. Most of my family is in the healthcare industry. Even I work in the healthcare industry though not as healthcare provider like most of them.

Narcan which is used for opioid overdoses can now be bought over the counter.

What is this? To me this pretty much says "when you do drugs and overdose just use this and you can save a dopeheads life so they can live to do more drugs later". This is essentially approving drug use and diminishes their negative effects. It makes opiod abuse a little more acceptable.

When I was a kid we had slogans like don't do drugs, DARE officers came to our schools and talked about drugs, comic books had little ads about not doing drugs, cartoons would sometimes have little messages about not doing drugs and so on. What happened to all of that?

We should be discouraging drug use, not normalizing it.
Nancy Fuckin RegBush is dead. Prohibition doesn't work, it doesn't matter what the Vice is. The zombies reign. All Hail Sidney Gottleib

Narcan should be banned.
All class A substances like heroin and fentanyl should be supplied for free and in abundance to all who want them. This is the only way to handle this problem.

No surprise you are a product of the DARE propaganda.

No you don't. You're a lonely gay white guy cosplaying on the internet.

Yeah, the whole thing is a bunch of nonsense. It's like running up the white flag. Let the criminals bring it in. Let the criminals sell it. Let the people use it. And we'll just let it all happen and spend money on supplying free needles, Narcan, and other stuff to support everyone's drug habit.

exactly like the last 100 odd years of drug war.

It's like a epinephrine pen being sold to counteract allergic reactions or anything like that. It's for opioid overdoses.

Selling it over the counter pretty much means overdosing and using opioids is acceptable and normal.

But that's our country now. We do not fix problems at the source permanently. We find ways to live with the problems instead. No one wants to make tough decisions or put the work in to actually solve problems. No one is willing to take the bad press by treating criminals and nutballs and dopeheads like what they are and separating them from normal people.

"Wow a lot of people are abusing drugs and counterfeit drugs laced with bad stuff and people are destroying their lives, others lives and ruining communities..........wait, let's let them buy narcan so fewer die and we can go on the news and say how we reduced overdose deaths!"

But you got it right, it's pretty much raising a white flag. Saying we can't stop all this drug use and overdoses so we'll just let them have stuff so they can keep on using drugs.

I'm only 47 so I'm not an old man but I am old enough to compare modern America to when I was younger and be ashamed of what we are becoming

So, you're saying that NEITHER way works.
what do you think has worked? how well did prohibition work? and how about gunz, will that "work?"

it would be very nice if the kids could stay off of drugs, but as long as the red states are full of meth heads and fentanyl freaks "monkey see, monkey do."

Can you provide me a list of the guns that you've been forced to give up?

It's a figure of speech and you know that.

But it doesn't take away from the current administration has tried way harder to regulate guns, create more laws, and put fourth calls to get rid of guns while pretty much ignoring the increased amount of drugs and fentanyl.

Trump banned bump stocks. Biden brought them back. Puff, puff, pass.
