Nancy Reagan wants the healthcare bill

She was just interviewed live by Chris Matthews on MSNBC.

Yeah... Nancy's job is to promote her Husband... and while I disagree with her decision, we can rest assured that this photo explains how it is that Nancy Reagan suddenly became an opinion sought by the State run media:

You'll recall that this was the signing of the "Ronald Reagan Centennial" commision... where Nancy noted that the BOY King is 'a Lefty'... all of which followed the would-be President, publicly belittling Mrs. Reagan for her well known belief in the occult, in his infamous 'séance' comment, for which he later called Mrs Reagan to apologize.

This thread has a logical fallacy foundation to it. Nancy Reagan supports government involvement healthcare take over. Nancy Reagan is a Republican. Ergo, all Republicans should support what the government wants to do since Nancy supports it.

If people can't see the illogical reasoning in that, they are either partisan hacks or ignorant of what a logical fallacy is.

For some people in this thread, both are actualities.

Because she was married to your messiah and is for something Obama wants.

How much do you want to bet hannity stays away from this like the plague on his show.

There is no way he would ever mention something like this over there. No way. He though Ronald was the ultimate.

Ronny, he was the one who basically disavowed McCain when he came back because he was cheating on his crippled wife, yet Hannity NEVER mentioned that. I looked it up and everything.

First, as far as i can tell, she has never married Jesus the Christ. He is the only Messiah i've ever had.

Second, why on earth do you think anyone on the right cares what Nancy thinks? We've never elected her. She has never claimed to be a conservative. Why would her opinion influence or upset us? She can do whatever she pleases.

Third, I dont give a damn about McCain. Why would I?

You seem to think we have this god complex with our leaders. We don't. We agree with them sometimes. We disagree with them sometimes. We think they are ordinary people. like us. They arent our King, our Savior, our god. And we sure as heck dont want to exalt their wives.

Why do you think that just because you exalt your leaders and let them think for you that everyone else does too?

Nancy Reagan is with the President signing the stem cell research bill. She like most Americans from all parties supported the research.

Ronald Reagan realized that all conservatives could not agree on all issues. With the acceptance of diverse views he built a strong and powerful conservative coalition.

The extreme right wingers running the Republican party today throw anyone off the boat if they disagree on one issue. In this thread, they are throwing Nancy off the boat.

The brilliant strategists cannot figure out why the Republican party has never been weaker.

It's a Leftist position, thus it's fallacious.

I'd love to see an example of a Leftist position on anything, that is NOT fallacious. I've personally never seen such.

How quick they turn on the virgin "Nancy", the wife of their "messiah".

How quickly you shove your nose up her ass as soon as she says what you want to hear. I don't recall anyone ever saying that we should carve Nancy Reagan's words in stone simply because we liked her husband, but I DO recall people like you ridiculing her from pillar to post . . . until you thought you could use her as a human shield for your noxious policy proposals. Then she was suddenly the Medical and Science Guru.

Hypocrisy, thy name is "leftist" . . . same as it always has been.

Maybe ... they certainly used the psychic to arrange Ronnie's schedules and decisions. No doubt Nancy made lots of decisions during Reagan's second term when he was incapacitated with Alzheimer's.

ROFLMNAO... Well this is about what one expects from a lying sack of Leftist shit.

Post evidence that Reagan was debilitated with Alzheimers in his second term or conceded by default through your failure to do so.

And yet no comments on Nancy saying she wanted this health care bill.

There have been several posts on Nancy saying that. I believe they all said some variation of, "So what? Who cares?"

Wrong dumbass... It was at the signing of the "Ronald Reagan Centennial" commision... where Nancy noted that the BOY King is 'a Lefty'... all of which followed the would-be President, publicly belittling Mrs. Reagan for her well known belief in the occult, in his infamous 'séance' comment, for which he later called Mrs Reagan to apologize. That the two political opportunists were able to find a way to 'help' one another is not hard to believe and serves reason. With Nancy getting the better of the bargain... no one is going to be swayed on the weight of her opinion and she's already secured her demands.

That Nancy traded her public opinion to support socializing America in exchange for a presidential commision to celebrate President Reagan's 100 Birthday is fine with me. Mrs. Reagan's entitled to her opinion; as is everyone else...

I, for one, wasn't concerned with Mrs. Reagan's opinion and now that she's expressed it on one of the lowest rated cable networks on earth... I'm even less interested.

There's no sound argument for socializing anything... unless the goal is to destroy its means to survive, with all due respect to Mrs. Reagan.

So Nancy is a Socialist? (By the way, there really wont be too many righty's in here at all...)

There won't? Why not?

Because she was married to your messiah and is for something Obama wants.

Well, I'm afraid that the doctrine of "infallibity through sob stories" belongs to YOUR side of the aisle, not ours. YOU belong to a cult of personality that believes right and wrong is determined by who says it, rather than by the quality of what is said.

How much do you want to bet hannity stays away from this like the plague on his show.

Can't imagine why he should talk about it. Nancy Reagan doesn't hold public office, never has, and has no claim whatsoever to any knowledge or expertise that should be of any interest to anyone.

There is no way he would ever mention something like this over there. No way. He though Ronald was the ultimate.

You DO realize that Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan, while married to each other, were actually separate people, right?

Ronny, he was the one who basically disavowed McCain when he came back because he was cheating on his crippled wife, yet Hannity NEVER mentioned that. I looked it up and everything.

Well, gloryosky. Sean Hannity hasn't commented on every single word Reagan ever said on every single topic, great and small, so naturally that means he's hiding something, as opposed to . . . Oh, I don't know, having limited time and wanting to be more timely and relevant?

While you're looking stuff up, why don't you look up why we're supposed to give a rat's ass what Nancy Reagan thinks about public policy decisions?

do you have a full video link or full transcript available to link. i'd like to watch or read it.

I would also, though I find Matthews to be generally annoying.

Not having seen the video, I would just assume that Matthews just badgered her and talked over her the whole time, creating the impression that she agreed with him.

And I'm generally a "lefty".

I may be wrong though. Chris may have held back his natural urges for an interview with Mrs Reagan.

So please, a link?

Oh, and as far as the rightie types throwing the Reagans under the bus when it's convenient? That's nothing new. The right hasn't actually been even vaguely "Reaganesque" for about 15 years now.

Who the hell ridiculed Nancy Reagan? What would anyone possibly gain by doing that?

I can remember a few jibes at Barbara Bush, and a WHOLE LOT of nasty comments about Hillary Clinton, but I can't even think of one instance of someone "ridiculing" Nancy.

Of course that there is no one on this thread 'throwing Nancy Reagan under the bus' is irrelevant... given that this entire thread is little more than a means to project nothing less...

WASHINGTON — President-elect Obama called Nancy Reagan on Friday to apologize for joking that she held seances in the White House.

At a news conference in Chicago, Obama said he had spoken with all the living presidents as he prepares to take office in January. Then he smiled and said, "I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances."

The 87-year-old former first lady had consulted with astrologers during her husband's presidency. But she did not hold conversations with the dead.

Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said the president-elect later called Mrs. Reagan "to apologize for the careless and offhanded remark." She said Obama "expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share, and they had a warm conversation."

as reported by Nick Sabloff

Ahh, I see it. I'd hardly call one off-handed joke "ridiculing Nancy Reagan". LOL.

Excuse me? Who ridiculed her? Where the hell were YOU in the 1980s while her husband was President? Under a rock? On Mars?

Of course there were nasty comments about Hillary Clinton. Unlike Nancy and the Republicans, Hillary and the Democrats seemed to think "First Lady" was an elected public official position. She richly deserved it by overstepping her boundaries. Nancy Reagan, on the other hand, never thought she was anything other than Ronald Reagan's wife.

I would call it exactly that. Obama did ridicule her. I think you need to update your definitions. Just because he did it once, and off hand, does not mean that he wasn't ridiculing her.

With that said, so what? Since she did consult astrologers, she deserves some fun poked at her expense.
