Mother Nature Contributes a Good Idea

There are rugosa rose bushes outside our office, and cow vetch has wormed its way in and has climbed to the top of the bushes, so there are the bright pink roses entwined with bright purple vetch.
Very pretty. This is one of the very rare instances I wish I had a phone so I could take a picture for you.

This bright purple flower is cow vetch. It is a wild flower in the pea family, grows up the stem of whatever is around, like the daisies in a field, like this:

Rugosa Roses, the simple 5 petal originals, look like this (some are white or light pink, depending on variety, but ours are the deep pink ones).

Imagine a bunch of cow vetch blooming all over the ends of the branches of this, next to the bright pink roses.

I'm sure it wasn't planted purposely; there was an uncared for property next door that had gone to field flowers. Vetch is an annual, but it seeds wherever it can find a bit of soil. The wind brought it and it looks awesome.
